It works well in that application because I have it fastened in place with electrical tape as a strain relief and it does not move. It does not seem to have the strain relief necessary to withstand what I would expect to be repeated motion if used on a headlamp. I believe the wires would work their way out of position. If you want to try it, I would suggest using a small amount of sealant where the wires exit the switch ; for the cost , it is a small risk.
