This is pearled farro? Pearled farro is not a whole grain?

I sent a question regarding the packaging on this; I did research and it can’t be whole grain and pearled at the same time. Whole grain has more fiber than pearled.

Should it be covered while cooking?

Hello Renee, I would cook it like oatmeal. For the creamiest texture, put grain (I grind it first) in COLD water, 2 parts water to one part grain. Stirring almost constantly over med heat until thick and some lava type bubbles appear at the surface. Cover and let set for about 10 mins. I have been making bread with ground farro. Challenging as far as texture goes but GOSH, the flavor is 5 stars. My 28 yr old VERY picky eater, loves it.......shocking!I also find that any cooked grain tastes richer the second day after refrigeration. So many tricks to the trade ay?

I love farro

For some reason, farro is hard to find in local stores. It’s hit or miss, or will have in the next time you go to buy a package. It’s not there anymore not even the shelf. Thankful to be able to order it from Amazon and have it delivered right to my house. This is some seriously good stuff and I love it in a grain bowl

Great for diabetics!

Since my husband shouldn't eat rice, pasta, potatoes and other starches except in limited quantities, I (the cook) like to serve Bob's Red Mill Farro. Its net carb content is lower than other carb foods. Directions say to rinse before cooking, but since this is organic and packaged in a clean facility, I have not needed to pre-rinse.
