Excellent product but not a 5 star experience
I have Oticon hearing aids and a Streamer Pro so this TV adapter was a useful add on for me. I would recommend this only for individuals with similar equipment, although it is advertised that the TV adapter will work with the Streamer model prior to the Pro.Unfortunately the first TV adapter I received was defective. It connected easily to my Samsung LED TV and paired easily to my Streamer Pro following the instruction book provided. However, after successfully listening to the TV via its bluetooth transmission for 2 minutes the signal was dropped. All the lights on the TV connector and my Streamer Pro indicated there was a good connection, but there was not. I pressed the Streamer Pro button trying to fix the problem. The sound was restored but was lost again within 2 minutes. I recharged the Streamer Pro, connected the TV adapter to another electrical circuit, turned off all other bluetooth devices, checked the wiring connections and turned off the equipment and reestablished the pairing connection. None of this helped at all. In the TV adapter box was a slip of paper requesting that I contact the seller, Hearing Aid Battery Club, directly if I had a problem. There was both a website and an 800 number to call. The website is nonexistent and the 800 number took me directly to music, no hello you have reached the Hearing Aid Battery Club, just a full 30 seconds of music. After waiting I did get a recorded message to leave a number and I would be called back. I did this on two occasions and never got a call back. In frustration I found how to contact this seller through Amazon. At this point my luck changed. I immediately heard back with information on a procedure to try that might fix the problem. When this didn't work I contacted Amazon and in a short amount of time I received a phone call directly from a service rep from the seller. We quickly agreed that I would return the defective device and a replacement was sent by priority mail. I have used the device for 5 days without a problem. I also received a prepaid envelope to return the defective device. The TV adapter is sometimes used to stream music from the TV to me as I walk around my house. I have no dropped signals as I go up to 40 feet from the device into other rooms and even into a basement below the den where the TV adapter is set up. Of course the signal works perfectly when I am watching the TV. I have had no signal interruptions at all while watching TV. The sound is clear and a good volume, although I adjust that using the Streamer Pro. I did take the device to my audiologist during a routine visit and she tweaked my Oticon Streamer to improve the volume input. This wasn't necessary for me, but it helped somewhat. I additionally found that when I cut off the hearing aid background speakers that the TV volume and clarity was improved. This improvement may be related to my hearing issues and my room layout, but I thought I'd mention it.Amazon sells cheaper bluetooth transmitters that send a bluetooth signal from the TV and can be received by the Streamer Pro. I tried several of these. The problem I had with them was that the signal was not as strong, they were difficult set up and dropped signals due to the presence of other bluetooth devices. The Oticon device stays connected and has not needed to be reset in the 5 days of use, although the TV and my Streamer have been turned off repeatedly. A nice feature is that by pressing the TV button on the Streamer Pro the volume from the TV is muted and the Oticon aids pick up people talking to me, then by hitting the TV button again the TV sound returns immediately.

TV Sound Improvement For Hearing Aid Users
I hoped it would improve my TV's sound. It did improve the sound but not as much as I had hoped..Volume a bit weak on some programs. Requires some practice in learning to use it. Some might findit difficult.Probably as good or better than adding a sound bar to your TV. Allows you to listen to your TVwithout disturbing others. Volume on TV can be turned down to zero.Wold I buy it again? Probably. Would not recommend it for an elderly person who has difficultyusing their hearing aids. .
