Best one of many I've tried. Nylabone exiles look no further!
So nylabone discontinued the ONLY disc that was both soft for dog's teeth and flew well. Not the one with the bone shape on the top, the one that actually looked like a frisbee. I think they called it gumabone. That thing was so durable and flew so well that it has shamed everything else I've tried to replace it with after losing my last one. I especially don't understand the popularity of the Kong rubbery disc. You have to throw it really hard to get it to fly at all and even then it sinks really fast. The best dog discs are the ones that glide well whether they are flung hard or not. The nylabone/gumabone WAS best I'd found. For those of you of the same opinion, here is the review I was looking for but couldn't find. This disc not only is an acceptable Nylabone Frisbee replacement, it's better! It's a bit on the harder side compared to most rubbery soft discs, but not nearly as hard as normal plastic discs. It does have a satisfying density to it. So if you are training a puppy to catch and to not be afraid of getting hit in the snout with a hard disc then you might want to start with a softer, crappier flying thing to ensure the dog will aggressively snag all things you toss in the air thereafter. That being said, for dogs who know frisbees and know how to track and snag them, this thing is plenty soft. It also has rough texture in a ring where you grab it from top and bottom to help with grip after it inevitably gets covered in slobber. Nice touch. As for the most important thing. It flies like sparkling unicorn angels are pulling it along through the air with just a light toss. I'd consider myself a slightly above average thrower. If I want to I can generally throw most discs long and straight with maybe half my throws. I've found this one to be the most forgiving dog disc I've thrown and my rate of 'perfect throws' is way higher even compared to the nylabone frisbee. I can both make it go farther and straighter then any other soft ones I've tried. I haven't tested it but I'd bet the distance and glide performance is very close to the ideal of a regulation size ultimate frisbee. I was concerned that it was a bit smaller than the nylabone frisbee which I think was a couple inches bigger. Even though it's smaller, it doesn't seem to be affected too much by wind. Most discs are either small and light for short and slow flight or big and heavy for long, fast, straight. This one does really well with both short little front-yard tosses and long open-field blasts.Yesterday I tossed it with just medium force down a slight slope. If my dog wouldn't have finally caught up to it and snagged it after a fun 40 yards or so then I'm not so sure it wouldn't STILL be gliding smooth and straight down that hill! We've found a new winner. Lost this one in my tall grass yesterday. I'm sure I'll find it over the weekend. But I'll order 3 more right now to make sure we have a no-compromise disc experience every day.

my dogs favorite
this is my boy when he first came home, he just turned 4 & he's a frizbee catchin machine...there have been many discs in those 4 years & this one offers the best of all categories, it flys extremely well, the plastic is a softer version of a frizbee not much mind you but just enough to keep my dog IKO from cutting his mouth whilst frenzied chewing after the catch, none of them last under this pressure but his old one of this model kept flying decently way after it looked like it could, many friends have commented that thing can't possibly fly until they watched me toss it 30 yards & IKO catch it..he finally broke it in two just the other day, today he's a very happy guy, the new one arrived.

My dog's favorite thing EVER!
It's sturdy yet flexible and gentle on dog teeth. I throw this disc for my border collie every night. She's a shredder, and she likes to fight with her disc after retrieving it, i.e. mouthing it and shaking it. It's been three months, and the disk flies as smoothly and as far as on the first day, nothing chips off, no sharp edges etc.We like it so much that I actually looked through my orders and found this one to write a review, and I almost never do that. It's a really good disc, you can bend it in half and it will hold its shape, it's never gonna shatter due to the material, but it's super sturdy too.

soft yet sturdy
My Belgian loves this frisbee! She loves to catch it and another thing she loves to do is play tug with it. It is over 2 years old and has started to get stretched out of shape from playing tug with it. She brings it back and puts it down and loves when I stand on one edge and she has to pull and pull to get it away from me. It is the pulling that has caused it to stretch out on the top. She does not just sit and chew on her toys, so if you have a chewer, I would not leave it alone with them. But buying a new one because it is not flying quite as well since it is now out of shape. I'm sure this one will last a few years also.
