The FlightAware Pro Stick Plus improves on the revolutionary Pro Stick high-performance SDR USB dongle ADS-B/MLAT receiver by adding a built-in 1090 MHz bandpass filter. The filter, when combined with built-in self-powered amp, provides improved reception of Mode S/ADS-B signals for users in areas where filtering is beneficial. By building the filter into the dongle we are able to significantly reduce the total cost when compared with buying a Pro Stick and an external filter. A 1090 MHz bandpass filter (whether built-in or a separate external part) is generally recommended for users in urban environments or with known high power radio transmitters nearby such as cell phone towers. Filtering is generally not recommended for users in rural environments. Filtering benefits may vary and are dependent on the installation location.

Works very well once setup is done…
Works like a charm right out of the box… would have been nice if they would have put some instructions with…

Not plug and play; Just as much work and twice the price as DIY
Paid the extra money (double what the parts cost) and bought this as a finished kit because I was hoping it would spare me parts compatibility and Linux configuration woes and come with support from a seller.Unfortunately, it arrived and it does not perform as promised. It was already registered to someone else and wouldn't work w flightaware. Contacted the seller who just punted me off to FlightAware support (who is closed all weekend). Seller did offer to send me another sd card, but that won't fix an issue with registration, so clearly they're not going to be helpful in solving any problems beyond replacement.Thankfully I have just enough Linux skills to reinstall and reconfigure the setup and manually force registration to me (command-line stuff). Its working fine now that I spent half a day learning and doing all the work to make it that way.Don't waste your money, you can get this in parts with a much better antenna for less than what you pay for the kit, and do just as much work (if not less) doing so.Custom Cables (seller) appears to be selling used items that are improperly configured, and don't really offer support beyond replacement which won't solve the issue that comes with used Flight sticks, and certainly doesn't make setup any easier. I should return it but it is running well now that I did all the work.
