**Q: Does this close the output circuit in off position?**
A: That t urn off/on the solar panel to the inverter or solar charge controller， Installed in the solar panel to the inverter or solar panel to the charging controller

**Q: I have a 40amp solar controller and 2- 235 solar panel, would this work as a breaker between the two?**
A: I'm not an expert electrician, but assuming the panel produces 2x235 watts, at 12 volts it would produce a max of 39 amps while the breaker is rated at 32 amps

**Q: Can i use 8awg wire on this switch?**
A: The standard solar connectors generally only accept wire up to 10awg.  I verified that from experience.

**Q: if i have 3 100 watt panels and 12v battery would this suffice to work to cut off the solar if i work on my battery?**
A: It should.  I am planning on 400 watts on my system and bought this device. 
As I recall the other comments said this would work on a system similar to my wattage.
I have not installed my panels, however, so maybe someone else will confirm.

I thought that I already wrote a review for this thing, but here goes. It looks like this allows you to switch on/off one solar circuit. That is correct. But it actually loops back that same circuit internally, so it actually switches it twice. Technically, this thing is four switches. Four physically separated circuit-interruption devices inside a box with one lever that opens/closes all four of those together. It comes, by default, with two of those four used for the + of your solar loop, and the other two of those four used for the - of your solar loop. You can change it around a little, if you're brave and know what you're doing. I use this to turn on/off two different solar loops. One little note: The one I got broke the plastic handle almost immediately, and Amazon replaced it for me. The torque needed to turn the handle is fairly high, and the handle is plastic, but I was still surprised that it broke. The replacement worked fine with no problems so far, so I'm guessing that the first one just had a manufacturing defect. I'm using this for 880w of solar on an RV. Great to have this for a safety shut-off.
