Yes, but you are probably better off with something like a cheap rotary tool as this this will provide cleaner results

Why isnt the solder sticking to the tip hard bits are dropping from 200c 300c 188 is melting point

Its because the solder is rubbish, its not got flux in it, solder needs flux to stick, buy some solder from Amazon, its about £4, make sure it has flux mixed in it.
