Don't wear them to the shops
They seem sturdy but be careful when walking over paving or gravel as that becomes an interesting experience! I stumbled and very nearly punctured the hosepipe 😂 There's nothing complicated about assembly and they seem to work very well providing good aeration to the soil. If they last as long as I think they should then they're certainly good value for money compared to many others that will only probably last a few uses. The packaging makes interesting claims about them being a good way to exercise but I'm not entirely convinced about that! They're comfortable enough as you'd expect and make decent size and length holes in the lawn. I personally find that with our clay soil it's much better to wear only one shoe and not fall over.

Caused serious issue with my lawn
Ok firstly the positives; They are very robust and did the job asked of them and the price is pretty good. Look as if they will last quite a few years.Ok cons: they are tricky to put on and it helps if your a contortionist or get someone else to do them up for you:Also it was a bit annoying that some of the spikes kept coming loose so had to keep stopping to tighten them up again. But you get a spanner with them to do this so its not the end of the world, just awkward and time consuming. One last con and this may be unique to me but since I have spiked my lawn using these, my pretty health lawn has developed large yellow patches of grass and the grass appears to be dying. I would say over 30% of the lawn that I aerated. Not sure why and other than cutting the grass i had done nothing to it, so can only assume these have caused the grass to die. This is very disappointing as my grass was looking the best it had done in years, so just be aware. If your grass is looking ok, I would not recommend using these just in case the same happens to you. shame as I have clay rich soil and I was so hoping this item would help with drainageHope this information is useful

Efficient Lawn Care Companion
I recently tried out the Ohuhu Lawn Aerator Shoes with Stainless Steel Shovel, and I'm impressed with their performance, rating them a solid four stars. Here's why:Effective Aeration: These shoes make aerating the lawn a breeze. The stainless steel spikes penetrate the soil easily, allowing for proper airflow and water absorption, which promotes healthier grass growth. I noticed a significant improvement in my lawn's vitality after just a few uses.Convenient Design: One of the highlights of these aerator shoes is their ease of use. They're simple to put on and tighten, thanks to the adjustable straps. However, it's worth noting that those with smaller feet may find the straps a bit loose, so it's important to ensure a snug fit before use.Durable Construction: The stainless steel spikes and sturdy straps contribute to the overall durability of these aerator shoes. I appreciate that they can withstand the rigors of regular lawn maintenance without showing signs of wear and tear.Bonus Shovel: The inclusion of a stainless steel shovel is a nice bonus. It's useful for various gardening tasks beyond aerating, adding extra value to the purchase.

The best way to aerate your lawn without machinery. Don't scrimp on a cheaper version
These work well. You should avoid scrimping on a cheaper version as they will break, but these are robust in the sole and the spikes. It also comes with a handy trowel for cleaning that can double for other gardening jobs. You need to spend a bit of time with the strapping. For the average (size 9) foot you'll need to bring the toe strap back a notch. Don't bring the heal strap forward (for the average foot) as the back strap isn't long enough.Make sure the Velcro is on the outside (there isn't left or right shoe) to avoid the strapping riding up on your ankle. Then, tramp away like a pantomime giant! Don't go over the same spot too often as you'll quickly start digging up your lawn.

Better than a garden fork
Last year my lawn really struggled and wasn't looking great so I decided to spend some time getting it green again.Everything I read about improving your lawn said aeration was very important. The thought of doing it with a garden fork put me off so I looked for other options. These spikes seemed like a good middle ground over spending a lot more on a machine.I'm a shoe size 12 so my toes did overhang a little but it didn't seem to cause any problems so the size was fine for me.Walking with them on is a little strange and I found that some areas of my lawn were harder to walk on than others.I did have a few issues with the spikes pulling up some clumps of grass which I had to go back and fix. This was mostly on the softer ground. The set comes with a tool to scrape soil off the spikes which I found useful. They come ready to use right out the box. The build quality is ok but I did notice after a couple of uses some of the spikes had a bit of a wobble so may need to be tightened up.3 months on from using them my grass is looking much better. I did also do a number of other things to improve it at the same time so it's hard to say how much the spikes helped but they don't seem to have made it worse.
