Having used a number of the previous Hollyland products over the last couple of years I was really intrigued when the C1 was launched as the published range was an outstanding 1000 ft . Plus some of the additional features like auto channel switching and direct usb streaming from the receiver to usb connection on computer. (I was a little sceptical of the last point as I have never been able to get it to work as advertised on the previous Mars 400s pro) I have only been using it a couple of weeks now but must say how impressed I am with this new model for a number off reasons. Firstly the picture quality and near non existent latency is outstanding. We use this set on one of our roaming cameras and the picture quality is almost indistinguishable from the other cabled camera feeds we use. This really helps in a live mix situation. Secondly the additional range means we have now been able to connect in places where we have been previously limited. I don’t expect to quite get to the 1000 ft range especially in solid brick listed buildings where we often stream, but the additional range means that we have stayed connected where previously would have lost connection for lesser distances- the difference is huge. Thirdly the USB stream pull actually worked for us on this model which is a significant gain, the one thing we discovered was that we could not get USB C to USB C to work but using USB c to USB A and then the included usb a to USB c adapter included with pack worked perfectly (not sure why or if its just our set up) The ruggedised case it comes with is a great bonus so you can safely pack away and keep all the accessories together is an added bonus. The C1 cost more than than the previous 400s pro and Cosmo 600 but in my opinion was worth the extra investment because of the additional reach, reliability and picture quality. Will come back to update as we continue to use this over the next few months but so far so good. - Well done Hollyland.
