Not the greatest value for filament, but it does work as intended.
The big issue with this package of PLA filament is mostly to do with the cost per gram really. A typical 1KG spool of a single colour of this filament is around £16-21 depending on the quality and brand selling it, and a single spool has roughly a thousand feet on for that price.Whereas this set of PLA colour samples is £13.99 for around 300 grams of filament, and I say samples because that is exactly what they are. Filament manufacturers produce these to include as freebies with full spools to allow customers to test out other colours as a sample to encourage repeat purchases.Essentially this is three to four times the cost, and you are buying the offcuts or sample filaments that are often included for free with typical filament purchases. If you care about getting a better deal, you are better off buying full sized spools and cutting it off the reel as needed as you will get much more for the money. This way you can buy a spool of a colour occasionally and the plastic goes much further and allows you to complete more projects. The only real positive I see with this kit is that you get a good mix of colours, but that is literally the only positive here at this particular price point. There isn’t enough of a given colour to last very long, and you will end up with a mix of random colours you may never need nor use. So again I recommend picking up a full 1KG spool of some primary colours and going to town with those instead of a set like this. The filament itself works fine, it's dry and isn’t brittle straight out of the plastic vacuum pack sealed pouches. It ran through my 3D pen just fine and caused no feeding issues at all at various different temperatures and speeds. The attached image is an example of how much use you will get from a single colour, I used the dark blue on a piece of paper and got that amount of coverage on from a single colour, which took about 15 minutes to do.As much as I've moaned about this product, this one is actually sadly one of the better priced packages when it comes to mixed colour sets for a 3D pen. If you are satisfied paying three to four times extra for a set of coloured filaments, it will do the job.
