The Andy Griffith Show: The Complete Series [Blu-ray]

I hadn't seen the newer (color) episodes. This had all of them.

Many of these old black and white conversions to digital just don't go well and you get all kinds of artifacts ---- But not with this set, it works Great. The packaging leaves a little something to be desired, but you can buy a simple hardcover CD case off of Amazon for $8 like I did to protect your investment. If you do this you'll never have to worry about scratching the disk getting them in and out of the less that quality original packaging . I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this series, you'll love it.

Got this for my mom who loves this show and it was a hit she watches it everyday

These are perfect. Sometimes I’ve ordered dvds that are reprints of reprints and grainy. These aren’t like that. I love Andy Griffith and so glad I can watch these quality dvds.

My husband is a huge fan . He loved this set!

The Andy Griffith show was on television from October 1960 to September 1968. A total of 249 half-hour episodes. A highlight of the show was that the role of Deputy Bernie Fife was played (although sometimes overplayed) by the actor Don Knots. He left the show after the fifth season and was replaced by actor Bob Burns who played Deputy Warren Ferguson. The show was successful family entertainment when TV had to watch its manners. The episodes are sometimes, but not usually, connected; so I would not call it a series in the sense that each episode depends of the one before. I liked the show, but It is impossible for me to make a blanket recommendation, since enjoying a TV show depends so much on personal preferences

I have not taken the plastic seal off and looked inside yet cause it’s a Christmas gift for my husband but it looks great.He will be so happy to get this on Christmas Day!We have been watching this just streaming and it has been his favorite for a long time and he has been wanting to get it on dvd or better yet blu-ray!

Unfortunately after season 5 Don Knotts left the show and after that it was not nearly as good.

I am not impressed with the way that the discs are packaged in their cases. The discs are stacked 2 at a time with nothing in between them. It will be a lot harder to keep them scratch free. On the other hand, the quality of the discs is excellent and I am thoroughly enjoying the show.

Thank-you for allowing me to enjoy a delightful trip down memory lane. I grew up enjoying 'The Andy Griffith Show', with Andy, Obie, Aunt Bee and all the 'residents' of 'Mayberry.' The dvd's all played without any problems and I was particularly surprised by the clarity of the series, since this show originated in the 1960's. Very happy and would highly recommend this complete series.
