This is a very nice Toaster overall.
This is more like a Cadillac then a Rolls Royce for toasters. But it's sleek, elegant, nice looking, very study, heavy duty, and perhaps well made. Time will tell how well made it is. But after bagels and bread, it's work pretty good for me. I like the defrost button, that works well for my frozen bagels. I used the defrost and the bagel button together and it works well. With the slider in the middle between 3 and 4, this works well for me. I looked at dozens of toasters, even images on Google, and I read tons of reviews. As far as I can tell, this is perhaps the best choice for the money, although a bit pricey now, I paid less. However it seems really solid and the outside does not get hot, except near the very top. The biggest beef with toasters, and that includes nearly all of them I have read reviews from, just about every brand, they all complain that the bread is never heated evenly. I won't go out on a limb here and say this one does, but it works well enough for me. I didn't see any huge disparaging synonyms that my bagels or bread were zebra striped with dark spots and light spots.I think you just have to test it and adjust the settings, and with a little tender loving care, you can get by ok. I don't believe any toaster is perfect in this regard, but this one seems to do a fair job. There are a few toasters that cost many, many hundreds of dollars, and why waste money like that? This one is a bit pricey, and the Brand name is well known, so a another reviewer said, this is probably as good as it gets! Slots are long and wide enough for just about any slice of bread, French, Sour Dough, or otherwise!Update: It's true that the bread does burn faster at the very bottom of the toaster. What I do is flip the bread or bagel half way through to insure it does not toast unevenly. The results are good if you flip it. I am not sure why this happens, but I can see the wires at the bottom become more red and hot then the wires in the middle. This might be similar to what some electric heaters do sometimes. It seems some parts of the wires are hotter then other parts, maybe closer to where the conduction starts. Rather then a design flaw, maybe it's a bit of technology they haven't quite fixed yet. My old toaster West Bend, had solid plates installed in front of all the conduction wires. This insured that the heat was distributed evenly over all parts of the bread, and it toasted bread perfectly. Also this prevented electric shock from touching the wires with a stainless steel knife. However, it did not come in long slot size, but came as a 4 slice toaster with a poached egg attachment. The West Bend was good for about two years, then it gave out.

Easy to clean, easy to use, functional & reasonably priced, my Cuisinart CPT-2400 is really cool. 5/5
I have not had a toaster for years, maybe decades. I never ate that much toast and whenI did I used to fire up the over to make it ... real overkill and time-consuming. A toasteralso takes up a lot of space on the counter if you do not use it a lot.Well, I finally decided to break down and buy one. I got a cheap one at first, but the slotswere too narrow for the bread I like, so I had to send it back. The Cuisinart CPT-2400 is big, but it is beautiful, streamlined and works well. Mine doesnot as some have reported toast bread unevenly on both sides. It does seem like one sideis a very tiny bit less toasted than the other side, and I don't know why that is, but it is nota problem. The slots are very wide. You could if you wanted to put two Eggo Frozen Waffles in eachside and toast 4 at a time if you wished to.A few of things to note though:1. You have to slowly and deliberately pull down the toaster handle and hold it firmto lock it. Some people complained about that. It is not a big deal, but you do haveto make a tiny effort to lock the handle down.2. If you want to pop the toast up you press the blue button and the top of the buttonarray. It is nice and easy, but I think if you pull the handle it might eventually breakthe mechanism - so don't.3. The slots are so nice and large that if you cannot reach the bread you can pullthe handle up a bit and push the bread out of the top - a nice feature.4. The Cuisinart CPT-2400 is big like an old car from the 30's and it takes up a lotof space on the counter, but it is light and easy to move.Easy to clean, easy to use, functional and reasonably priced, my Cuisinart CPT-2400is really cool and I can now enjoy toast again. 5/5

I call it the Greyhound Bus
I like my toast very well cooked, almost burnt. On its highest setting I can get that with 4 slices of bread. If only two slices it burns them a little more. Like I said I like that. This is a solid product with an easy to remove crumb tray. Temperature is adjustable, but really who ever does that? You pick a setting and pretty much leave it there.I love the look of this thing, big, long and CHROME. I don't care what anyone says, chrome just works better than stainless. Easy to clean and doesn't get weird spots like SS does sometimes. The only thing I don't like about this is that the cord is very short and comes out the front. I routed mine underneath to the back and held it in place with a twist tie. It works OK.All in all this is one of the better toasters I have owned. And you can't beat that super wide slot, everything always fits! I wrote this review after living with it for 6 months so its not one of those dopey "I just opened the box and it looks great!" reviews which I think are worthless. I like this toaster.
