## Description

Clay body specifically formulated by request from Midwest and Eastern U.S. potters. Low in sand and grog content, speckled buff is smooth textured. An excellent throwing body. The color palette is perhaps best described as 'desert' or 'Southwest'. Fired in oxidation, Speckled Buff falls into the tan/brown color range. Oxidation ( First Image), Reduction ( Second Image).

Review: My new favorite clay! - This clay is sooooo forgiving! As a newbie, I really appreciate that, and almost everything I throw with this clay turns out nicely. The only “problem” is because this has grog, it will tear your hands apart if you let them touch and stay on the wheel head. Try to not do that, and it really is the perfect clay. If they could clone this clay into a lighter color, it would be even better! The photo shows what it looks like freshly thrown. I haven’t fired any of my pieces with this yet, so don’t have a photo showing the final product. The challenge will now be to find a glaze that will complement the buff color it will fire to.

This clay is sooooo forgiving! As a newbie, I really appreciate that, and almost everything I throw with this clay turns out nicely. This clay is my favorite. When it is RAW it is pink. With an 06 bisque and a cone 6 glaze firing it turns a beautiful earthy tan color with brownish black speckles! Highly recommend for wheel work. When
