MODERN SOAP IS SAFE FOR CAST IRONS, just a reminder to all who wonder about it. The coating will not be fully stripped and nothing will ever rust as long as you give your irons a nice soapy sponge scrub or use a chainmail scrubber for tougher burnt-on food. So far, love this iron for crepes and pancakes. Great purchase at an okay price.
