This book appears to not be printed professionally. Bad page layout, but even worse, NO index. You must go through page by page to find what each recipe is. Disappointing.

I love this book I have found so many useful recipes in this book and I just love the thought of Èclairs and the has a rasberry version to this book is great for beginners who love to cook. Its a good to start!

This is a good primer for beginners before moving on to Julia Child, or others. It has clear recipes and nice coverage of classic pastries.

Not as good as expected

Like other reviewers, I was struck by how poorly presented this book was. Firstly, the image in the product thumbnail looks way better than the actual cover of the book, which is also much smaller than expected.How anyone allowed this to be released without professional editing is beyond me. Also - and this is what really disappointed me - the only colour in this book is on the cover. The pages are in black and white! Accordingly, the food pictures don't exactly pop with excitement. As they say, we eat with our eyes but I wasn't particularly drawn to any of the pictures, given I see the world in colour.I bought this as a gift for my partner but, in light of the poor overall presentation, it wasn't worth wrapping. I just gave it to her and apologised for the crappiness. If the recipes turn out alright, maybe I'll come back and make mention of that later.To anyone interested in buying this, lower your expectations!

I have several cook books and I've seen hundreds of cook books in book stores. But this is the first cook book without pictures. Not a single picture depicts each recipe. How am I suppose to know or expect the end result would be then..
