Very good design
Our sporting groups enjoys target shooting with steel targets. With several participants, even A500 steel targets can get bruised up quite a bit, however, it is always the hanging system for the steel targets that gets tore up the most. Using farm style steel T Posts as part of the hanging system makes a lot of sense, but even that has presented problems getting an adequate mounting system that attaches to a steel post. But, this Steel Target Hanger looks like a great solution. The design is well thought out. Using a single hole A500 plate, 8" diameter, this target hanger is completely shielded by the plate, which prevents any errant shots from ruining the hanger. We have recently gone through two other types of hangers because another design permitted shots to get past the side of the plate if the hanger and the plate were the least bit off center, This design is much better, keeping the plate closer to the steel post, preventing the hanger from getting hit.The construction is excellent using A36 structural steel tube for the mount that easily slides over the fence post with no hang ups or binding. Conventional hex head screws make it easy to tighten the mount to the steel T Post, unlike other mounts that require an Allen Wrench. The provided plate hanging bolt and tension spring are very robust and support heavy 1/2" steel gongs easily. I would not recommend going smaller than 8" diameter gongs, in order to protect the hanger assembly. In summary:Pros: Sensible design. Heavy Duty steel construction, A36 Steel. Conventional hex head bolts to tighten the mount to the T Post. Painted flat black.Cons: Few if any. But use 8" round or larger gongs to make sure the mount is not hit by a stray shot.I expect to buy more of these so our group has multiple targets to enjoy.

Works great - very pleased with it
This target hanger is easy to install, reasonably priced and works as advertised.UPDATE 9 MONTHS LATER:I’ve been using this target hanger for 9 months now. It’s performed very well. I use 1/2” AR500 steel targets. One is an 8” circle x 1/2” and the other is a 2/3 IDPA silhouette that’s 12” x 20” (34 pounds). This hanger easily handles the heavier target. This hanger mounts to the T-Post easily and securely. I angle the steel plate slightly downward/away so the splash goes down into the dirt.

They work!
Been using this system with the heavier style T-posts for over a year and it works like a charm. Guys that are saying otherwise are not setting the posts up right. Need a smal sledge or t-post driver you slip the plate mount over that and use a small open end or hand tighten the 2 bolts and your down! I've found that silhouette targets (small to large) work best as that's what they're designed for. Now it takes me about 5 mins per target to set and , if it's done right your good for the rest of the day. now I set up at 100 and 200 yards and next time I'll probably try out to 300.

This is more sturdy than the other T post hangers I have used!
The only reason I did not give a 5 star rating is to securing bolts require a wrench for tightening. I wish it came with wing nuts or paddle screws for hand tightening. Otherwise it is a solid product!!

Solid Mount, Easy to Hang
I have fooled with many homebrewed semi-portable steel plate holders made from rubber straps, webbing (won't shoot thru like chain), 2x4s, portable stands and so forth. I don't know why I didn't get these earlier. All other methods either swing all over when hit, fall over on rapid fire or fall apart after a few times of use.Set up is dead simple: Pound in a T post (about $4-$5 at the hardware store) at whatever angle suits you (I put my close up target posts at about 20* leaning towards the shooter to drop bullets straight down). Then just slip these on top of the post and tighten up the bolts in the back with a 1/2" socket. I was surprised and pleased with how tight they locked down. No extra movement, just ring after ring when pounding them on rapid fire drills. These come with nice 1/2" hardware and heavy springs. Some of my targets use smaller bolts, but no matter, these worked just fine with my own smaller bolts and the included springs. All in all, these are the best way I have found to hang steel targets. I will buy more t posts and put them in at my shooting spots so I can just drop a target on them when I want to shoot.

Excellent hangers, easiest set up, worth the buy!
These are awesome units, strong and easy to set up, I bought 5 of these to go along with a set of 5 targets I bought, mounted them to T-Posts and they are holding up very well. I like this set up, its so easy, just pound in the T-Posts, bolt these hangers, then targets. Genius system, so quick, easy, and the T-Posts were cheap, much cheaper and faster than a chain type setup. With the range finder, we set up all 5 targets in less than 1/2 hour. We have shot everything at them and they are holding strong, LOVE IT!! Going to get more when I order more targets for sure.

Easy hanging steel targets
very easy to attach a half inch thick steel target to a barbed wire fence post. Attached spring allows bullet to reflect downward. I have a 10 acre spot at my farm where I have about 14 steel targets all using this device. range is anywhere from 60yds yds to 260yds. Don't have to go out and place paper targets, staple, remove once done. Now I can just pull up, get out of my Polaris, remove guns, and start shooting. I paint them about every other shooting. Just drive up in Polaris, use Rust oleum spray can and takes about 10 minutes.

Top of the mount peeks over top of target.
Overall, it's pretty good, but the top peeks out over the top of my steel targets, and I've but two rifle rounds through the mild steel backing on it, and destroyed one of the bolts on it, so I can't take out the bolts from the back side. Normally, it's not a problem because the bolts just fit to a T-Post. But if you shoot enough holes in a T-Post that it cuts the top off the T-Post, and if the bolts grip the T-Post at an odd angle, you end up having to take a hammer to get it out, and if you're in the middle of nowhere without a hammer, you're just going to be one target down.Ask me how I know :D. Overall though, this has served me very well. I don't hate my purchase, but I'll probably get something lower profile in the future
