Perfect size for solo tea brewing.

Looks nice, but doesn't work well.
Doesn't hold 5oz, more like 3oz. Only 5oz at max capacity beyond usable fill limit. Lid doesn't sit right in the cup and the rim doesn't flare out enough to keep it cool when holding. Also, lid doesn't have very good grip on the handle.

Inexpensive but good gaiwan
I actually purchased the other version (dragon/phoenix) a month or two ago and then just saw this one recently and decided to get it as well.This one is actually done better than the dragon/phoenix one as far as the design on it. Whereas that one was done very sloppily in a number of areas, this one really doesn't have any issues.For a gaiwan it really doesn't matter if you have an inexpensive one (unlike clay teapots) and as long as the size is big enough for what you are using for (if you fill it too full you are going to burn your fingers when pouring after steeping). This gaiwan has everything I need in a gaiwan and is a great value for that reason. You can get a more expensive one if you want, but it's not going to do anything this one can't do! Obviously if you need a different size or a different look, that is a different story.

Has very similar style to other dishes I have in my kitchen that are some sort of Chinese themed. Looks very nice and washers easily.
