Best compact projector for movie night
I’ve been using the EF12 for a bit now and honestly, the picture quality for this size is insane. It’s a laser, so the colors are way more vibrant than those cheap LED portables. The Yamaha audio is the real MVP here—it’s actually loud and clear enough that I don't feel like I have to hook up a soundbar. Pros: > * Setup is brain-dead easy with the auto-focus and keystone. Android TV is built-in, so it’s a true one-cable setup. 3LCD tech means no 'rainbow effect' like you get on DLP projectors. Cons: > * At 1,000 lumens, you really need the room dark. It struggles in a bright living room during the day. No native Netflix app (standard for Epson), so you'll still want a FireStick or Shield if that’s your main stream. No optical zoom—you have to physically move the box to change the screen size. Overall, if you want a 'lifestyle' projector that looks premium and sounds great, this is it

Great quality, needs a fix for Netflix
The Epson EpiqVision Mini EF12 delivers sharp 1080p visuals with vibrant colors, and the built-in Yamaha sound system is excellent for its size. It’s super portable and easy to use thanks to the built-in Android TV. However, it doesn’t support Netflix natively, which is a big downside for such an otherwise great streaming device. I hope Epson resolves this with a future update. Aside from that, it’s a fantastic compact projector for movies and shows.

Amazing when it's on sale. Perfect for travel, and it's bright for dim lit room
When it's on sale for $500 this is the best projector you can get for that price. For $1k it's okaish as now it's competing with others. It's small and looks premium. It's small enough you can take it on a road trip with you just to project in your hotel. Android OS is a big sluggish but you can fix that with a firetv stick. The most important part it's bright and sharp.

The remote that came with it is not working
I bought the renewed one and I’m kind of glad I did. It was packaged very nicely. The projector looked brand new. Everything looked brand new. Everything was clean. I’m thinking about purchasing another one for the bedroom. Because I don’t like the one I have in there. The projector is really quite much quieter than my other one. It took a minute to shrink the picture down to my screen…. It covered the entire wall. It took a second to figure out how to shrink it. The picture is very clear. It’s just as clear as my old projector. I love the fact that I’m not gonna have to change the bulbs out anymore. Definitely happy with my purchase as of right now. If anything changes, I can promise you I’ll definitely be changing my review. As of right now, I’m really happy with the purchase though. Projector has worked pretty good so far the problem that I’ve had is pairing up my fire stick to the projector you can’t do that apparently so the remote that comes with the projector is a Bluetooth remote and it does actually control the fire stick about 80% of the way anyway Update: we are loving this projector it’s so quiet and great picture still. I want another projector for our bedroom NEW UPDATE: the remote stopped working just out of nowhere and without the remote you really can’t make the projector function. Not sure exactly what to do now. So turns out I have to buy a new remote or send the entire unit back. It’s $36 for the remote. I’m really really not happy about this considering I just purchased this.

good renewed buy
Writing this review because I went insane reading projector reviews and was deeply confused by the specs. I had bought a refurbed 200 ansi portable projector for $300 and it was dim and pixelated. We have an old Epson projector (10+ years old?) and it looked about as good as that. The EF12 is great. Super bright and crisp. Small. Good value (refurbed, $780) for a laser projector. Sound is very good, not as good as speakers though. Does not have to have wires hanging out everywhere because it is a smart projector. Happy with purchase.

Hopefully Epson will help
Really like this projector, but the remote is failing. The "Settings" button stopped working entirely. Now the "Home" button once works intermittently. If it fails, there's no way to get to the settings menu. Seems like the projector is a quality product but the remote is fragile. It would be 5 stars if the remote was fully functional.

Really Great Value for a Portable Projector
I recently purchased the Epson Portable Laser projector and overall, I am very satisfied with my purchase. The projector is extremely portable, making it easy to take with me on the go. I particularly love the connectivity options, including Bluetooth and Android TV, which have made it a breeze to stream content from my phone or other devices. The only downside is that the projector could be a bit brighter, especially in lighter environments. However, this is only a minor issue and hasn't impacted my enjoyment of the device overall. Overall, I would highly recommend the Epson Portable Laser projector to anyone looking for a versatile and easy-to-use projector with great connectivity options. It's a fantastic product and well worth the investment.

The best movie experience for your dollar!
Best customer service ever. 7 months in my projector stopped working. Called Epson, 5 minutes later they told me to send a pic of the serial number. Once they got it, they sent me a replacement THE NEXT DAY! The projector itself is amazing, for the price there is nothing close. The built in speaker is so good I don’t bother using my main speakers. No bass obviously but for daily viewing its fine. But the best thing is the INSANELY HUGE & CLEAR 150” picture. Honestly some of the colours are BETTER than my Sony OLED (blue is the best I have ever seen, obviously not the blacks). I have a 55” Sony OLED in the same room, it was our main screen before and we NEVER use it now (I only use it for my PS5). The fact SIX of my OLEDs can fit in the 150” screen is ridiculous. I have seriously thought of getting another one as back up since they are such a great value.

Perfectly happy with this unit
Looking for a projector for the bedroom, I first tried out an older style lamp projector, as they’re simply more affordable. While it worked fine, I didn’t like the idea of the lamp burning out/dimming over a shorter timespan, so I started looking at laser projectors. This one hit the price point perfectly, so I took a shot on it. And glad that I did! My main concern was whether it would be bright enough for me. My bedroom doesn’t get any direct sunlight, so is usually pretty dim, but even with the overhead light on the image on this unit is still perfectly clear. I even set the max brightness down to 80% and it’s still perfectly fine. The other concern was the lack of optical zoom. In order to set the image size on the wall you have to move the projector itself closer or further away. I solved this by getting a $50 projector stand here on Amazon, and placed it off to the side of the room. The auto keystone correction kicked in when I powered it up and boom, perfectly squared picture. Pretty impressive. There is also a digital zoom in the settings, where you can shrink the image to 50% of its projected size. Lastly, Amazon offers a 90 day warranty/return period on this refreshed unit (which arrived in perfect condition btw), but if you register the product on Epson Canada’s site you see it comes with a 2 year warranty. For the price, you’re not going to get a laser projector any cheaper than this, and this unit is more than capable. Note: Android TV doesn’t have a Netflix app, so you’ll need an external streamer for that. I’ve plugged in an Apple TV, and the projector powers on and off with the AppleTV through HDMI-CEC.

The most affordable laser projector?
Buying experience: I believer this is one of the cheapest laser projector you can buy right now. I tried my luck on getting a ‘renewed’ unit and found out it’s actually ‘refurbished’. It had a dead pixel so I returned it and got another ‘refurbished’ one which was fine. Pros & cons: The image quality is sharp at 120” but is only bright enough in very dim ambient light condition. The audio sound is loud enough for a family room but lacks the bass end. Bluetooth connection is slow to establish and doesn’t connect automatically after a restart. Netflix can’t be installed on androidTV so you need an external device. Initial impressions: It ain’t perfect but there’s nothing better in this price range. It will outlast the LED and lamp projector in the long run.
