After struggling with incredibly weak and flimsy icecream scoops I decided to buy what looked like one of the sturdiest on Amazon. And actually that was pretty accurate - it holds up very well and is comfortable in the hand. The tip of the scoop tapers a little more for a sharper edge to get into the icecream and there's not a chance of this thing bending.HOWEVER... the claim of being dishwasher safe is incredibly inaccurate. After being through the dishwasher twice the head of the scoop is now completely detached from the handle. It seems that the glue holding the two together is unable to accommodate any kind of water and the way the two parts fit together does allow water to get in.So for all it's positives unfortunately mine is now in two bits and needs gluing back together and will NOT be going in the dishwasher again.
