Great Display
I don't much like tablets. Between phones that already have nearly as much power and laptops that far outclass them in versatility, I don't see much reason for them.Except for E-ink. The last tablet I had with one of these was one of the first gen Paperwhite Kindles. The resolution on this display is a whole other class, frankly even having experience with these displays the display almost looked fake when I first pulled this thing out of the box. It looked like a photo taped on, rather than a digitized wallpaper image for idling.Word of warning, these screens are only good for reading. Low-to zero eye strain reading. Do not buy this thing expecting to watch videos, play games, or anything. They simply are not made for that. Most videos go at 30 frames a second? I estimate this screen can do 4 at max.For reading, I am happy. Great screen resolution, a battery that's at 70% despite not touching this thing in three weeks, and a backlight with customizable color temperature, and, being on Android 10, compatibility with any eBook store, I am quite happy with it.Only complaint is the interface, I know this is designed to be a book reader first and foremost, but I would have liked a more customizable stock Android experience. You have six dedicated menus to access applications and books and other storage, and frankly if someone didn't tell me it was running Android I wouldn't know- it is that customized. Still, it does the job I wanted it to do, just with a short learning curve.

My go to
I have coworkers who have the Remarkable. No doubt that has the best tactile feel out of all digital notepads. I will not argue that. But the Boox is a close second for half the cost. Plus, they pay a subscription fee for Remarkable!!This is the absolute the best bang for the buck.I did my research.

Um...
UpdateI just got my second one and still have the same problem.....I have no have no idea what to do. Ugh---------I did my research and I wanted something I could read epub and Amazon books and this one seemed to fit the bill. It had rave reviews online and so I decided to take the plunge.I was really excited when I got it yesterday. I updated it firmware like it told me to do then I tried to log into my Google account and it wouldn't let me. Went online and saw that I had to turn it on, so I did that then tried to log in again and again I got 'this machine is not approved by Google' or something like that. But.... Doesn't it run a dumbed down version of Android? So I did what the online Boox site told me to do and wait 6-24 hours and turn it off and try again and it still didn't help. I tried to wipe it so I could start again but that didn't work either. I couldn't get it to reset the factory settings. I'm going to have my boyfriend look at it when he's done with his project and if he can't get it to work it's getting returned to Amazon and I'll start with a new one.But guess what? The Kindle app works fine!!!! So there's that I guess.....I would have bought another Oasis if I just wanted that.
