Amazon recommended this brand when I was considering Hill's Science Diet Digestional Something variety, which a friend had said kept their kitty alive past 20 after some digestive disease. well, i DID NOT KNOW Hill's was so expensive and noped out immediately, but then then this brand was listed as an alternative. i was a bit skeptical of the super low price (seriously cheaper than the cheapest purina) but i used fakespot.com to assess the accuracy or the 5 star rating and it showed full A+ accuracy.okay, how do i KNOW (or strongly strongly suspect) this food is really good? Lily's poops hardly smell at all. i hadn't had a chance to observe this in the warmer months bc she goes outside but now in the winter, i started to notice that her poops in the litter are hardly even noticeable in the litter, even when not fully covered. someone else said in a review that dry poops are a sign of a healthy poop and i am also noticing this aspect as well.she also seems to be much much more energetic during our daily play/exercise sessions. it might be a coincidence but prior to the new food, i would work out Lily twice a day for 10 minutes before feedings and she would start out strong and frenzied, but kind of lose interest at the 10-15 minute mark. due to my schedule i switched to a once daily longer session and she now is super crazy energetic for as long as i can keep going, 30-45 minutes sometimes. again, could be some other factors, but i'm now wondering if it is the food.this food seems really great and is super affordable!!!

Great product; my cats love it....But, when I selected Buy-it-Again for the 18lb bag, it (the Amazon website) converted to a 6lb bag automatically. I did not notice this until today, the day of the anticipated delivery. The same error happened with another order of the same brand, different flavor.: the "But-it-Again" feature changed it from an 18lb bag of probiotic "cat" food to "dog" food. The buy-it-again feature always worked in the past......I will be more careful. I do not have a car, but I enjoy walking....I would have walked to the local store for a 6-10Lb bag.....for less. Unfortunately, I do not have a dog and do not have a car to return a 20lb bag of dog food. No worries; Amazon will not allow returns for pet food; I will see if one of the dog walkers on my way to work & /or school have interest, a neighbor, or see if I can take a cab to donate to a soup kitchen that I was able to get to accept pet food for the homeless over the summer.........I canceled two other Amazon items not yet shipped to cover the difference and in order repurchase cat food in 2-3 business days.

this is the highest animal protein % rice bound kibble on the market. It's low dust 3/8" round shape will work perfectly in any mechanical food dispenser. I would argue that for cat consumption, whole grains is pointless for rice, and organic is pointless with chicken. Diamond Naturals Dry gives your cat honest well balanced nutrition and cat health specific additives without all the high priced human diet marketing gimmicks and fancy packaging. it arrived intact from Amazon in a non resealable thick mil plastic bag with a 9 month good till use date, so figure on needing a gallon volume container for every 3 pounds of this kibble. Update: I just learned the budget well praised Chicken & Rice kibble that Costco sells under the Kirkland brand is also made by Diamond and is very similar to this food but with 30% protein instead of the 40% found here. So for young to middle age active cats this 40% kibble may be worth the premium price - just try to keep them lean and muscular by not over feeding.
