As others have stated i would not use this for transport on a plane but it it certainly good enough for travelling between sites via car. My NexStar 6SE went in here with the mount attached.Any 4 or 5" scopes should not have any problems either. The supplied pads should be sufficient to stop up any gaps.Pulling the cross-strap from both end where the clasp is certainly help with securing the bits in place.

Just like the astronomy name brand case.Not as heavy or water proof like a Pelican, butDefinitely durable and no worries about protecting what's inside!My Celestron Edge HD8 fits perfect without diagonal and finder.

I ordered this for my celestron C6-A SCT with the idea I can store it with the 50mm guid scope attached and auto focuser. It works perfectly with a little room to spare and I know everything is protected. Great product!
