Can the "X" on the doors be removed? I see them as dust catchers.

They come preattached to the doors likely with some type of glue. They are separate pieces so you could try to take them off but it might ruin the front of the cabinets. I haven't noticed much dust catching on them in the few months I've had it. The top gets more dust than anything.
