I have an Exo -Terra 36 x 24 x 18 terrarium and use on on either side... my crabs are out and about during the day as well as night and they are far more active with these bulbs... because these are mercury bulbs, they can turn off then on again if you bump them while on. That is normal. I do not turn them on until they are in position and ready for the day and have no issues with them flickering on and off during day. I turn them off at night before moving them to set up my Exo Terra Night Bulb and Flukers ceramic heat bulb.
