Love this!
I've been using these mats for YEARS! They last a fantastically long time, and it takes a lot of pressure to wear it down. Whatever plastic they're using for these is sturdy stuff. It came wrapped up in a slender box, and the instructions say to make sure you have another pair of hands to help you unwrap it. The mat is crazy heavy when its rolled up and incredibly difficult to unroll by yourself. I do highly recommend getting someone else to help, especially since it likes to re-roll if there's nothing holding it down.Speaking of which, you'll need some heavy books (or furniture) to keep the ends from rolling up. But after a day or two under heavy weight, it stays in place. It's easy to keep clean and camouflages very well with the environment since it's clear plastic. It's also a great size to fit into most places!I can't recommend this product enough!

Been great
I was a bit skeptical about this because there aren't many option of these and the reviews aren't the best overall but I desperately needed one for my office as I just moved into a room that now has carpet and my chair wouldn't roll. I ended up with this one and I haven't had any problems with it's durability so far. I was worried it would crack like some people have had in the other reviews but so far, I've been using it for 2 months and haven't had any issues. It does slightly move over time so you do end up having to adjust it back into place once a month or so but so far it's been good. I do wish the price was a bit cheaper though. These things are pretty expensive. I will update later on if I ever have any issues with it.

Decent, but will only last a few years
It's a good mat, but after 4 years it has developed cracks where the wheels of my chair typically sit.

This will never be flat due to how it is shipped.
For some reason the manufacturer or distributor opted to have this product rolled up and shipped as a tube. This may not sound like a big deal since hey, most mat-like items probably ship that way. However, given that this item is made of such a tough plastic this creates two major hurdles:The first hurdle is that unrolling it to lay down is borderline impossible, and is definitely impossible as a single individual. The material is so rigid and is fighting so hard to return to its original tube-shape that it is pulling against you with incredible force as you try to unravel it. Meaning that if you release it at all it snaps back into its tube shape. It took me and the wife working together just to get this thing unrolled to lay on the ground without it violently springing back into a tube shape. The second and more damning hurdle is that it means this thing is never going to be flat. After the battle to get this thing laid down on the floor we tried standing on either edge to try and get it to flatten and you can feel it constantly fighting against you. I have now had this down under my computer chair for two months and both sides are STILL raised/curled because the only way you could really flatten them and keep them flat would likely be to lay a heavy beam on either side to leave it for days until its shape changes.Otherwise it's a pretty standard hard-plastic desk mat with gripping teeth on the bottom. No better or worse than any other one I have had. If they just shipped this thing flat it would be fine.

Worked for me
This worked for me. We had one up in our bedroom for the past two years and no issues. My wife uses that computer for work. As others have mentioned, there was a bend in the mat that wasn't flat. When my wife finally pointed that out to me I simple took the mat out to our deck where we have direct sunlight. The sunlight softened the plastic and made it perfectly flat. So I bought a second mat for our downstairs office. The key is having some way to heat the mat so it lies flat and cools.

Does what it says, but just barely.
While this mat will likely protect your carpet in the long-run, the other aspects of this made me wish I would have gone with another brand. First, as most mentioned, getting this to lay flat is hard. The packaging size makes it so the mat needs to be tightly rolled, which is further exacerbated by the cold weather. I have had 50lb weights on it for two days, and it is still curling. Im sure this will go away after some time, but holy cow is this unnecessarily annoying. However, for me, the biggest con of this product is the size. While it boasts about having an extended size for your feet, do you really need protection from the chair there? The mat is EXTREMELY small for what I would think a product like this should be. If you literally never roll around in your chair, this will be okay, but otherwise, any small roll left/right/back will have your chair rolling off the mat onto the carpet, which then snags on the mat because its likely not fully flat as previously discussed.Lastly, a minor issue is that this mat just seems like very thin plastic. After sitting in the same position for ~30 seconds, there are massive divots in the mat and my carpet (which is low pile, so it shouldnt imprint into as much as it is) which make moving harder. All in all, if this product was $20 or $30 I would just be upset and move on. However, for approx $50, these issues should not be happening. I will be asking for a refund on this product and finding a bigger, sturdier one elsewhere.

Not Durable, Confused Product Description
Near the top of product page, it says mat is 1/4 inch or 6.3mm It is not. Main body is 1/10 inch as measured or 2.5mm. Further down in the description, it says 2.2mm ( .087) which is less that 1/8 inch.Bottom line, product description is written by a someone that is confused.Product will last about a year, (I know from first-hand experience) because of thin construction.
