Does this make a sweet or dry mead?

Semi Dry mead, to make a sweeter mead there are way to “backsweeten” but this adds a little complexity of adding stabilizing agents and additional honey at bottling.

Do I need to “rehydrate” the yeast as the package indicates? The instructions just say to pour the yeast in and don’t mention the “rehydrating”.

No need to rehydrate the yeast, this yeast performs well without rehydration and it is a big pitch compared to the batch size.

Do you offer 6 gallon mead kit?

Currently we do not offer a 6 gallon version of this kit.

Do I need to rack it into another gallon jug at all? The mead recipe my brother uses has him change jugs after a week

You don’t have to but the dead yeast will be at the bottom of the jug. It is better to transfer a clean batch to a new container/bottles. You can then let them mature without worrying about off flavors and smells.
