The 1/4' burr will add depth and save time in all carving fields. It can be used in conjunction with a drill or grinder unit as with variable speeds. These pieces are extremely valuable in their use, made of toughened materials and outlast many others on the market. I use this burr for wood carving it is extremely effective for roughing out small carvings .You must be very care full when using it ,as it also removes skin real fast ,I wear leather gloves .My only beef with the 1/8 shaft is that it bends easy ,you must have it inserted almost all the way into the tool or it will bend .I use Kutzall almost exclusively now ,and I carve every day .
