Power Stop Z23-1894, Z23 Daily Driver Front Carbon Fiber Ceramic Brake Pads

Great brakes pad very smooth and no dust.

I bought the Power Stop pads to replace my OEM 2017 Audi Q7 brake pads. If you own a Q7 you may be aware of the dreadful squealing noises they can develop (more prominent when reversing the car). The noise was driving me insane and despite a known TSB the Audi dealership refused to fix the issue. When the brake light wear sensor light finally went out I reviewed multiple brake pads and narrowed down my choices between Centric and Power Stop. As of my order Amazon only carried Power Stop so my choice became much easier. The Power Stop kit comes with four pads, four anti rattle clips, four stainless steal pad mounting clips, and a small packet of grease. If you’ve replaced the Q7 front calipers, it’s not a difficult task but the large and heavy calipers makes the job a little tougher. The pads were a perfect fit and although you don’t have to, I recommend replacing the hardware (rattle clips and pad mounting clips). There is one thing to note here, my car came with only one anti rattle clip installed on each side from the factory, although the kit contains two per side, I found it impossible to use the second piece on the bottom. The bottom of the caliper seems to require a smaller clip, so I was unable to use the extra clip provided. This did not cause any problems since the setup matched what I originally had, but I did end up with two extra anti rattle clips. Power Stop provides a pad break in procedure which I followed (5 aggressive stops from 40mph to 10mph and then 5 moderate stops from 35mph to 5mph). The new pads seem to work fine and I haven’t noticed any braking issues, best of all the irritating squealing is gone and the car is silent when reversing. I will update the review if squealing or other issues develop.

I just started using these mid size pads and for what it's worth, i think for the price it does a good job. I like the fact that it comes with usually all the shims, and hardware that you need to install the pads including some grease for the pins and behind the pad. Normally i would get performance pads, hawk, akebono, that cost 30+ more then these which are normally semi metalic pads. Those are great to dissipate heat when you are on hills and maybe a track day, but i dont track my car but want decent performance. These are a close second and decent brake performance and lower brake dust, so for city these are great for the price. If you constantly drive fast or hills, get the more expensive pads, but if you just drive normally around town, these are good enough.

Great pads, stop well, and minimal dust. I installed rear pads with no issue, however, these front pads would not go on with the hardware provided in the kit. It looked different from the factory hardware but looked like it should still work. I spent way too much time trying to get it to work and ended up putting the factory hardware back in. Also, the front pad sensor does NOT fit into these pads - not happening. Overall a great pad, wish the hardware and sensor issue didn't exist.

Great pads. Better stopping power and modulation than oem akebono pads with no break dust!!!
