I’ve been using the FLEXI New Classic 26 ft tape leash with a larger dog and it feels sturdy and well-engineered. The tape extends and retracts smoothly without jerking, and the one-handed brake and lock system is easy to operate while walking. The handle is comfortable to hold, even on longer walks, and the leash feels strong enough to handle sudden pulls from a dog up to the stated weight range. What stands out most is the smooth retraction and the tangle-free design. The tape feeds back in cleanly and doesn’t twist easily, which makes walks less frustrating compared to cheaper retractable leashes. The locking mechanism engages quickly and gives good control when you need to shorten the range in busier areas. For best performance, keeping light tension on the leash during retraction helps it wind back evenly. Also, occasionally wiping the tape clean after muddy walks helps maintain smooth operation over time. Overall, this is a dependable retractable leash that provides both freedom and control for larger dogs during daily walks.

Bought this after a failed version for my 50lb lab mix. She pulls but the last leash I bought was supposed to be rated 0-85lbs so I thought it would be fine. It held up about a month and snapped. This one feels way more durable than that, and immediately upon opening I could tell it would function better and longer, it feels super sturdy. The clasp is a nice size. I think I could've maybe sized down to the medium but I didn't want to repeat the last experience where it snapped so I sized up and ultimately I think this will hold up a long time, hopefully through the rest of my dogs life. I got black cuz it was the cheapest, so the color is as expected but not anything fancy lol. I don't think there's any reflectiveness added so if that's something you value this might not be the right leash. It locks really easily and holds firm. It fits in my hand and my husbands. It is a bit heavy/bulky but I got the 26ft one so it's about what I expected it to be lol. If this one does happen to fail I would buy it again, it's the best quality I've found for this leash type so far

Before this, I'd tried my luck with a less expensive product that turned out to be a waste of time, if not money. I returned that product after having given it a fair shot for about a week, having been convinced in the end that it was just no good. As soon as I had this leash in my hands, I knew immediately the quality was much higher. I put it to work right away on a nice, long walk with my dog, who is still a puppy with lots of energy and very strong. The retraction mechanism worked perfectly, and the guide where the tape reels in and out did a good job of making sure it didn't get tangled, but the best part was the locking mechanism. I think that's the weak spot in the less expensive knock-offs, but in this leash, it worked flawlessly every time. It locks and unlocks easily, and will stay locked when you press the switch to engage that. This leash is a bit heavier than others I've tried, but in a good way. It does not feel flimsy or cheap at all. Everything works smoothly, and it feels quite strong. Time will tell, but I think this will be something that will last, even with an eager and strong puppy pulling on it when she sees a squirrel.

Love this leash. Its good quality, sturdy and locks if you want to limit your pups distance. Value is great. I will get another if this breaks ever.

This is a good leash. I give it a 4 because price is higher than some others I've used that were also good leashes.

This is such a well designed product. I use the large size for a smaller dog in order to get the 26ft tape length so he has some slack to run after squirrels and such. The stop works very well and locks in place to restrict the length if you need to contain the dog and not use full length. It retracts very well and has a nice hook for connecting to a harness. Product is smooth, quiet, and very durable. This is the second one I've used in over six years.

Love this unit. Add the poop bag holder and you are golden for those walks. I have two and have a dog who loves to take off after animals with no issues or breakage so far after two years.

Has held up for a very large, pulling Doberman (100+ lbs) for 6 years now! We love this leash, it gives us a lot of control over our pulling Doberman. It really holds up to the weight and has never failed us. We like giving him a lot of leash to run around in some grassy areas so this fit the bill well. 10/10 would buy again!

This product has given way in less than 5 months and is not functioning properly. The leash is not retracting, and the button on top near the handle is malfunctioning too. I am unable to use the leash and it's unusable in the current condition. Extremely dissatisfied with the quality of the product.

Excellent quality and easy to use compared to other ones I have tried on Amazon
