ZoomL-20 - UK Version

A bit plastic fantastic but it really makes up for it for a DAWLESS experience. UIR24, QX2442 and this Zoom L20 are the best mixers I have in my studio for everything I need. The Zoom is just a pure dedicated 22 track solid state recorder for my purposes, everything else is a bonus. After Cymatic went bust this is the only option for anything with 16+ tracks before coughing up 2K+ for Tascam or JoCO recorders. The pre fader multitrack recording doesn't bother me as I bring everything into it analogue with eq and compression first. The only thing to be aware of is you cant use LINE in +4db devices on input 1 and 2 as they are Hi Z or mic and there is no button for pad. channels 3-16 are all usable as line in and also 17-18 and 19-20 share a fader if you want to put mono into those. Brilliant clean pres that you can turn up 100% and no noise as long as your noise floor is under -35db like in our studio.

This is a good mixer, with some great features( live track recording, independent channel effects etc) for the price. It is very light to carry around and easy to setup. However I ended up returning mine as the audio quality wasn’t up to par for me ( I came from QSC mixers using lewitt and shure beta for recordings). If you are looking to start up… this is a great piece of kit, but if you are after top notch audio recordings look else where.

It's a amazing mixer desk, absolutely fantastic clever stuff. Easy to use, if you want to use the home record, or studio, or the live show, that's perfect! High quality recording in waves format!
