I'm in the process of setting up an aquarium for Axolotls, their water needs to be chilled and maintained below a certain temp. I wanted a way to keep my eye on the temperature at all times and I can see it from my desk. It started adjusting temp readings immediately after being plugged in. I held my thumb over the probe and watched the numbers climb. Very accurate. The light up screen is the perfect brightness in my opinion, not dim, but also not too bright. It's being used on a 55g tank, and for what it's being used for, I barely had enough cord length for both the probe and usb plug to reach where I wanted. I would have liked more length, but seeing as this may be used for other things then aquariums, I can understand why it has short cords. Easy to switch between Celsius and Fahrenheit with the jumper on back.

Works great! Now I always know what the aquarium temp is at a glance. I had a heater malfunction and kill my fish. That's what prompted this buy. Use tweezers to pull the jumper off in the back for Fahrenheit. I also saw a review that stated he wasn't sure if the meter lines were for show or actually work. I tested running the probe under tap water and that allows you to watch the lined meter move. Very satisfied. I used velcro and mounted it on the corner or the tank.
