A: These boots are lite because they are a hot weather combat boot. They have a full Vibram sole and a steel shank for stability.  If you are looking for an ultra-lite boot, they are not as light as the military trainers that are similar to a sneaker.

Good boots, but purchased these specifically because I wanted the Vibram Sierra soles. Mine came with a softer compound Vibram sole not shown in the product pictures.

These McRae's are excellent boots. I've put many miles on many pairs of McRaes over the years all over the world. After trying several other boot makes and brands, I will never order anything but McRae. Oorah!These are McRae #8189 though. Pretty sure #3187 is a typo, because it's not a McRae number.
