I love these puzzles. The first batch of three was amazing. The new batch is great, but not as good as the first batch. That said, they are still among the best puzzles on the market.DIFFICULTY: Excellent! Some pieces that appear to be outside edge pieces aren't, which ups the difficulty, I love it.DUST: The first batch of three advertised that they were getting rid of puzzle dust. They did that successfully, the puzzles were amazing. The new batch of three has some puzzle dust, but not near as bad as other puzzle brands. I am disappointed it isn't as dust free as the first edition, but that is okay.FIT: The first batch of three fit together amazingly. The pieces fit together with a clean snap, didn't fall out, but were easy to remove. The die used to cut the new batch of three is uneven. In some places it is tight, in other places it is loose. Overall, when the puzzle is complete the lines between the pieces are clearly visible -- much more than on the first puzzle. The pieces fit together nicely, but no longer have that satisfying snap into place. Also, some pieces now have a larger gap between them. It's a step backward, but more in keeping with other puzzle brands.ART: I love the art on these! The first three had a great feature that every single piece had something going on that was interesting. The new batch isn't quite as energetic in that regard, but it still has activity in most places. I am disappointed that there are now some blank pieces, but rarely is there a large blank canvas where you are trying to solve it by shape rather than image. The story the puzzles tell, the way that story changes, and the characters are just absolute fun. My kids literally lose hours studying the maps and the puzzles and declaring what characters they want to be and telling stories about them. Well done to the artists.SECRET: I love the idea of the secret. It works great. Each puzzles pieces have different shapes throughout, so the die is obviously changed. Except, the die for the secret is always the same. Once you figure that out, the puzzles are easier to do, which is disappointing. I wish that they would change up the shape of the secret, because it would make the puzzles more dynamic. I understand the added cost that would cause, but it really would elevate each puzzle to being consistently something special, rather than, "Oh, it's the same overall outline." I do love how the secret changes the puzzle at the end of the day and tells you more of the story, but please change the basic die cut for it so that we get a bit of variety!OVERALL: 5 out of 5. Would buy again, would gift these. My family loves them. They are some of the best puzzles we have ever done for many reasons, ranging from the imagery to the build to the little quality indicators like using paper bags to hold the pieces inside the box instead of plastic. Well done to the creators! I would consider reducing the rating on the puzzles overall by 1 star, for the minor manufacturing quibbles above, but none of those destroy the enjoyment of these puzzles.

We really enjoy this brand of puzzles. Not only are the pieces high quality and a variety of different shapes, but the illustrations are silly and fun. Because there are multiple "scenes" going on with different scenery/color/people, it's easier to sort and work on one section at a time. The "magic" surprise at the end makes it even more interesting. We've done two of these so far, and really enjoy them. We are two older adults who do a lot of jigsaw puzzles, so it's not just for kids.

We love these puzzles. I bought a single one first (The Mystic Maze), and then I went back and bought multiple 3-packs. To increase the difficulty, we like to do it without looking at the posters that are included, which provide the preliminary image. It's really fun to...well, to puzzle your way through what exactly is happening as you piece it together.Many of the shapes are unique. You might have a fish in a piece shaped like a fish, etc. That also adds a dimension of challenge.There are stickers (unrelated to the puzzle, but still included), a scavenger hunt once the puzzle is assembled, and two posters of the image to help you with the assembly. The box has a place inside to mark who did it and when; have you ever heard of a puzzle company that encourages you to share rather than buy a new one?We would love to see more from this company but with a different twist. While all the puzzles are still fun even after doing so many, we wouldn't mind a different shape, if you know what I mean. ***wink wink***

My teen loves Magic Puzzle Company puzzles. They are so original and fun! Never encountered anything like these. At this point we have most of them, maybe missing two? Run, don't walk, and get some! Such fun time spent with the family putting them together!

My husband and I love to puzzle. We discovered the first series of magic puzzles one day at target and were instantly hooked. We bought magic puzzles for everyone for Christmas and we’re so excited when the second series was announced. We pre-ordered it immediately and eagerly awaited their arrival. Once they arrived, it was like Christmas morning! We opened the package right away and got to puzzling. We couldn’t stop and stayed up way too late and finished the first of three puzzles in one sitting. The next two we decided to pace ourselves but couldn’t help it and ended up finishing all three in under a week. Whoops. Luckily these puzzles are good enough to repeat over and over again. I also love the little upgrades they added to this series with a puzzle log and stickers. There’s also nods to the other puzzles in the series if you look hard enough. We can’t get enough of these puzzles. The picture and art quality is awesome, the puzzle pieces have a nice fit and are sturdy. They also sift out the puzzle dust which is a nice detail. All-in-all these puzzles are my favorite. I hope to see more come from this company. We started a puzzle library and hope to collect many more magic puzzles! They also make great gifts!

These are very good puzzles, even without the gimmick, which is clever the first time and pretty cute every time they're after. They do all have the same gimmick. But beyond that, they're very well crafted - very interesting puzzle piece shapes, great art, and excellent attention to detail when it comes to the small cues of distance, color, etc, that a puzzle or can use to figure out which part of a puzzle a piece belongs in. I recommend the older trio too.
