Brighter than a 500W Halogen, better than a Pentair Intellibrite 5G.
I wrote a similar review for the 6" version. In the picture is the 10" light in my 20'x40'x8' pool, and the 6" light in my 10' diameter spa. This thing is absolutely fantastic. I had a 500W Halogen in the main pool, it burned out, so I rolled the dice on this thing. Pentair is simply too proud of their product, I just couldn't spend $1K on a light. And- it's really not great to be running full 120VAC through the wet niche and conduit, all the way to the back of the light, even with the GFCI and all of that, it's just a terrible idea. Use technology, safety first. The wire from the light to the controller is significantly less diameter than the original wire (only 12VDC instead of 120VAC), the conduit pull is easy (pour dish soap down the conduit if you need) you just wire nut like colors, done. The controller pigtail wires right up to regular 14/2 (Black, white, ground), it's super simple too. I added a 2-gang metal box for the actual lighting wires so I can replace the lights easily in the future if I ever need to (the only risk in this purchase), but I way overbuild everything. I'm completely floored with these lights, totally changed the look of our pool, I'm super happy. If they die quickly, I'll come back and trash them here.

Poolexa Large LED Color-Changable Pool Light with 100 Feet of Cord and a Control Box.
FOUR NOTES on this 5-STAR LIGHT:1) We had our Poolexa LED light installed into our pool's existing Hayward wet-niche space (it fitted perfectly) and had the Poolexa Control Box mounted beside our pool's existing Junction Box. The Poolexa Control Box was wired into our Junction Box's rotary-timer dial so that we can run the light in manual mode (it simply turns on and off at the times selected on the rotary-timer dial). Using the manual controls in the Poolexa Control Box, we selected the cyan-colored light but you can also choose-to-select from white, red, green, yellow, blue, purple, or RGB gradient. The manual controls also give you dimmer and speed options.2) Alternatively, you can install a free APP on your phone (which involves having your phone's location turned on) if you wish to control the light in a wide range of customizable color modes or even a music mode (which allows the color to change along with the rhythm of the music).3) The price of the Poolexa light was $339 + tax + free shipping = $362.73 which was excellent value compared to the big names of multicolor pool lights (which often cost >$1000) and the shipping was free and fast.4) When selecting the length of cord to order, measure the distance along the ground from your pool to your Junction Box and then add at least an extra 10 feet at each end to allow for installation.

Nice lighting to replace existing pool and spa lights.
Pretty much like it all except that you must be within bluetooth range to control with the app. Possibly a wifi connection would help in many cases. I like the one piece design. Very easy to pull through conduit due to the relatively thin 12v wire compared to the 120v wire that was with my old lights.I would recommend this light over trying to fix 500w lamps.

You can only use an app that runs via blue tooth and there is not an app for the Samsung Galaxy A52
This light came complete with decent instructions on how to install it and the installation went pretty good. HOWEVER, overall it sucks. The company advertises that you can set this up to run off your phone and that is correct BUT it does NOT run off Wi-Fi like almost every other brand-new device on the planet does nowadays. This is old technology. So you have to use Bluetooth - and that means you have to be very close to the control for it to work. Worse yet, you can't run it off of every smartphone... my son's iPhone worked fine as did my wife's iPhone, but I own a Galaxy A52 and there is no app for my phone. Even worse than worse yet, you can't check all that until you've installed it and the install took hours to remove the old light remove the old wires, pull the new wires, and set up the control panel. I would have had to completely uninstall all of it and return it if my son didn't have a iPhone. BUT it gets worse. I immediately wrote to the company explaining that they needed to update their android app so a Galaxy A52 would be able to control it. That was well over a month ago and they never wrote back to me. So the company sucks. Plus being Bluetooth? Well that's bordering on false advertising. Yes you can run it from your smartphone but only if you have an old android or an iPhone and you have to be close to the control panel to make it work - you can't turn it on from say Hawaii when you're in California like you can with Wi-Fi controlled products. So overall this product works but not exactly as you'd expect or want, and the company is complete crap... they won't respond to you. BEWARE - don't buy this product - find one that is Wi-Fi controlled.

Works---sometimes---fantastic after checking for moisture.
I've had the product installed for just about 2 weeks (since Feb 18th). I recently noticed the bluetooth function not working and then saw that the light came on by itself. Was able to control with the bluetooth function for a bit after that but soon everything went kablooey and now can only turn the light on and off from the controller. No BT or control box color control regardless of what I do. The light works....it's just a bad controller I am sure. The question will now be how Poolexa responds as Amazon refers you to the manufacturer for warranty claims. Emailed them yesterday. We'll see.UPDATE - 3/11/2021 I was contacted by Victor at Poolexa and he suggested I check to see if there was moisture in the control box housing. Upon close inspection I noticed what looked like a film of moisture on the back of the white control board. I dried it off and that was it. Victor also suggested some means to help keep the moisture from getting back in. Light works like it's supposed to. I am a happy customer.
