Some of the colors show a robe that ties on the side at the hip, other colors show a tie that goes all around the waist. Which one is it?

I ordered the light blue one and the the ties were hideous and it fits like a badly designed hospital gown. I love the fabric, though, so I ordered another color (green) shown with normal sashes which allow me to tighten it around the waist and I love it. No idea who would want the ugly one unless it is someone who is pregnant or just had abdominal surgery.

is this 100% natural cotton?

100% cotton on the label and it definitely feels and acts like cotton. It is light and soft.

Does it shrink in the dryer?

Yes, it did shrink some, but not more than you expect cotton to shrink. I'm still glad I bought XXL, love it kind of big.
