TOMTOP Pivoting Compass Dashboard Dash Mount Marine Boat Truck Car Black

I purchased this Pivoting Compass with a screw down Dashboard Mount for Kayak Marine use but may change my mind and mount it in the vehicle. It is Black and will mount to my dash as well as it would to the dash system of my Kayak. It is approx. 3" tall upright and knob to knob approx. 3 1/4" x 2 1/2" with wires that come out the side from a large 1/2" hole, which for me will need to be plugged to keep water out if used as a marine compass. This hole and the adjustment holes, makes me think it was designed for a dry use in an auto, but it does state Marine, so if it fails it may be due to it being used in a manner that it is not exactly designed for. With 12 vdc applied it is bright enough to see in total darkness from several feet and with a 9 vdc battery, it's red lights come on just fine for me. I will most likely not be paddling out in the dark with the gators and mosquitos, but for auto use the light may come in handy. I plan to mount it's base Horizontal, to reduce the height if possible. again, it may work for me well, just in the vehicle I drive.

The compass condition and size was as I expected. It does not seem to be as accurate in determining the direction as I expected. For the price I would say it is ok.

doesnt work it range is south to sse no matter what direction i go i dont know why peopel are defending this i have owned automotive compases before it is the device not working no bs there isnt any magical magnetic fields that only apply to this particular compass and not all the others

not happy with product. Want directions in my car. Possibly car metal causes erroneous direction .Found to be totally a waste . Should send it back but did not keep papers

Never worked. Always pointed south? Piece of junk. And I gave one to a friend!

Compass does not know which direction is north. Spend the extra money and get a Ritchie
