Dayton 6EDY5 Line Voltage Thermostat, 120-240V, SPDT

I wanted an accurate thermostat that has a narrow range of degrees between starting and stopping. I have 3 of these in service. They all work great. These have the option of working as heating control or cooling control. Simply change one wire inside. Pretty expensive on Amazon....these can be obtained readily elsewhere for a better price. These don't come with the inlet/outlet electrical cord. Somewhat of a hassle to install the cord. But worth it if you want a good thermostat.

Works as expected

This unit has a very wide temperature range. I put it in a free side by side refrigerator that I converted to a two temperature cooler. One side runs at 40 to 44 degrees and the other at 46 to 55 degrees. The 40 to 44 side is the one for which I used this control. I used it to turn the compressor relay off at the temperature I wanted. Put a bypass switch in so I flip a switch to use this side as a freezer. I would definitely purchase again. Great product.

Terrific product! Easy to install and wire. Operating temperature dial is accurate (within tolerance spec'd). This thermostat is being used in a garden room for an exhaust fan so we appreciate the watertight enclosure. High quality look and feel.

This thermostat can be wired to call for heat or cool. Installed this in a customers greenhouse to control a large fan [like attic fan] Contacts rated for 20amps, the enclosure is made out of thick plastic seemed very strong and durable. It has a 1/2 threaded Opening. I used NM sealtite to connect worked fine. There are four mounting tabs for screwing it to a flat surface. We'll see how it holds up in greenhouse where the temperatures here in Connecticut can swing radically. I liked the plastic enclosure as it would seems to hold up in a damp environment.

Very good quality. Sealed, reliable, built to last. Much better that typical home attic fan thermostats.

This Dayton thermostat did not function correctly when it was new and right out of the box. With a room temp.of 75 degrees F the unit turned the air cooling system on at the 34 degree set point and off at the 30 degree set point. Control in the 75 degree temp. range was not possible.This unit will be replaced with a different thermostat. The temperature set point is not close to the actual room temperature. It seems as if this product was not tested before being shipped.
