Q: How on earth do you open the pump top??

I ended up holding the thinner ring just under the pump with pliers and then twisting the pump counter-clockwise (with hands) and that worked. I'm guessing this was a faulty batch of bottles (I returned the first one I got but then decided to try this and it worked).
