Just as good as the expensive cues
I named her Colleen.Colleen is a thirsty cue.She takes no prisoners. She takes no names. All she does is win. This is my first cue, and it took me from an ok player to a pretty decent player... with practice of course.21oz cue felt heavier than the house 21’s. More balanced too. You’ll definitely feel the good difference immediately!Case is great. People know I got a McDermott inside.I’ve been playing twice a week for about a year without having to change the tip.The chalk is ok. The scuffer is worthless. Not a big deal, since I bought a scuff/shape tool and a shape/tap tool with my order. The joint protectors are a nice touch. All in all, the cue and case have more than paid for themselves in the pool hall!P.S.I have a buddy who plays with a $1500 McDermott. I let him play with mine, and he couldn’t tell a difference in performance.

this pool cue kit is an excellent value. It is not an american made McDermott ...
If you play pool often enough to want your own cue, this pool cue kit is an excellent value. It is not an american made McDermott cue but it is an authorized globally manufactured cue. It has the 🍀 clover trade mark on it next to the connector but it doesn't say "Star" or "Lucky" underneath. It is part of McDermott's line of cue sticks so nobody can give you grief about having a department store "Walmart " cue stick. This cue has a quality Irish linen wrap and a stainless steel collar with a 3/8x10 thread pattern. The shaft could be upgraded to the McDermott G-core or i-shaft in the future, if you wanted to.The shaft that comes with it is a standard maple shaft. The shaft is extremely smooth and well finished. The thread protectors that come with the kit has the star logo on them. The hard tube pool cue case has the McDermott logo and is one of the differences between this kit and the deluxe or classic kit. It is divided by a piece of cloth so the shaft and the butt don't rub against each other. It should be effective at protecting the cue.The kit included a tip shaper/scufer. It's not great but it will get the job done.It also has 4 pieces of McDermott chalk and a rule book. The price has gone up since I purchased it. I paid $92 and some change delivered from amazon.I read other reviews saying that their cue was damaged so ordering from amazon would make returning it easy. Mine arrived straight and perfect condition. For under $100 you get a decent cue, a case to carry it in and the ability to maintain the tip. Everything you need to play, except for the table and balls. Like I said a great value.

Best Cue on the Market
Not only are you getting one of the best shooting Cue's out there, I did add an enhancement of a G core shaft. This stick is ready for ANY Action on any table. From your high play tournament's to Money Play, you may spend more money on another Cue but you won't get one that plays any better than this, my rig.it's provided by a Certified McDermott Dealer. That means service well after 30 days. Hawley's is a Quality Dealer for Amazon. Great Support during & after the Sale...

Ohhh Heck Yeah!!!!!!
Okay first. I did a lot of research before dropping the money on this kit. Right off the bat, no one is selling this cue used. That’s a good sign. From what I read on pool boards this cue out of the box is a great starter cue. There’s only 2 suggestions. Break the cue in and get used to it. Then go have the tip replaced and upgraded ( tip that comes with it is pretty standard ) then what you own is comparable to one of McDermotts $2-300 sticks. Again get your time in with the quality tip on cue and then when ready drop the $250+ on a top of the line McDermott shaft. There’s a couple to choose from and they have accurate descriptions on there performance. When you have done that your now working with a cue comparable with there $900 and up sticks. It just won’t have a flashy butt handle. ( all this works because it’s all threaded the same so it’s meant to fit together without issue )This is what I was told and found online. What I can say is I walked into my local watering hole with my new cue. Won my first 3 games against 3 players I’d never beaten in the past ( only been playing 3 months after a 30 year break ) I was accused of cheating because I bought that brand new shooting iron. LOL

great pool cue for the price
I love the pool cue. yes it is a painted pool cue but the graphics look great the balance is perfect and the pool cue is otherwise a spectacular purchase.. I really like it a lot and I'm happy with the case the accessories... it was supposed to come with a booklet which was not there but not a big deal. The joint protector caps our kind of pointless... but I like the McDermott logo on them. :-)

Quality that won’t break the bank.
I haven’t shot pool in around 16 years. I recently acquired a nice table and decided it was time to get back into the game. After reading many reviews, I decided to go with this one. It was a great decision. It feels so smooth and right in my hands. Very nice setup for beginner to a old timer like me. I would recommend to anyone.

Good Value for newbies...
If you consider all the items you get in this package, along with the fact that this is a pretty good cue, then it's a really good value.

Joint on the one I got was bad
Wood junction wasn’t good. The tap wasn’t exactly right and the shaft didn’t want to screw in easily. I suppose I’m used to a Muecci West cue so... a cheap on like this isn’t going to measure up. The joint wasn’t well made though. The cue is certainly better than the crap on the walls at pool halls. Just wish the joint had been better made.
