A bit fiddly to set initially but no problems there. Great that if I am in a lounge chair it will sit over my legs and my book, or ipad, sit pretty much eye level, thus removing nearly all stress on shoulders and neck, which is why I bought it. Yes, I recommend this particular item.

This does the job. Is it perfect? No. Could any book holder that you set across your lap while you sit in a chair and read be perfect? I don't see how. You can adjust the height and set it up with the legs facing two different ways. And then, separetly, you can adjust the angle of the book. The clips that hold the book (although somewhat delicate) are versatile enough and move so it will work on any size book.On a big thick book that I was starting, I clipped the left side tightly but the right (fat) side I just clipped part of the book, enough to hold it up because I wanted to flip the pages as I read easily without them being clipped down. The book stayed up just fine and the page stayed put well.There are little numbers on the buttons you push to adjust the heights so you can get both sides perfectly aligned. Is is super strong? No but strong enough to hold BIG books. Is it "sorta flimsy" as some reviews wrote? I suppose. The legs appear to be aluminum, not steel (lol). But do you need steel to hold a book? I set this over my lap while I sit in a chair and read. It works. Works well. It is light weight, easy to adjust, easy to move off your lap when you're done reading.I like it and find it great for helping me read comfortably and keeping my hands free from holding the book.

When I got the correct angel it’s very nice and easy to use. I read a lot and it’s easy on the neck.
