Decent bike, a few issues though
Very nice electric bicycle, however there are a few things to be aware of. It says the max speed is 20 miles per hour, however that’s just the number the meter stops counting at, I found the bike went 22-23 miles per hour, the bike just didn’t clock it. The bike also slows down to somewhere around 13 miles per hour when the battery is low. One very annoying thing about this bike is the safety feature in place, where you need to get the bike to a speed of 2 miles per hour before you can throttle. This is very annoying when it’s difficult to pedal and when you need that quick start to the bike. Everything else it great about this bike, nice seat, decent speed, I would say however it is a little overpriced.

WARNING: Expensive trash with questionable middle man “manufacturers”
“ It is normal for bikes and packaging to get shaken or disturbed during shipping, this often means that the bikes will look like this, and zip-ties can get broken. “ - Hurley customer supportZip ties can get broken??????Be warned, like another review says, my box came fairly severely damaged. The bike has numerous cosmetic nicks and potentially mechanical issues, though I don’t ride many bikes so I can’t say for sure. Upon trying to use the bike I realized it wouldn’t start. I’ve contacted customer service at Amazon, they sent me to Hurley. Hurley then sent me to the manufacturers of the bikes. That said, I’m certain it’s a front. There are several clones of this model which are exactly the same and likely made in the same factories in China, for cheaper. What remains to be seen is if the extra $200-400 I paid for a brand name will be rewarded via customer service. Judging by the other review, likely not. I’ll update this review if they come through, but if not, DON’T BUY THIS. Especially if you are any type of savvy with these, just get the cheaper knock off and do your own mods and what not.Ps the seat is horrendous. It’s a cool looking bike and little else.

AMAZING customer service!
I experienced a small issue with my Hurley Swell after having it for a few months. I called the company and the phone was answered on the second ring by a technician who was eager to help me. He diagnosed the problem over the phone and express shipped me a small replacement part. I plugged the new part into my bike and the problem vanished...it was a faulty electrical connection in one of the junctions. It is a breath of fresh air these days to have a company stand behind their product even months after the sale. The message the technician gave to me was "don't worry sir, no matter what, we'll make it right or we'll send you a replacement bike if that's what needs to be done". Hats off to this company. Now my buddy wants one for himself and one for his wife, and I'm going to buy one for my wife too. I seriously doubt we would get this high level of customer service with any other electric bike purchased on Amazon.

Perfect if you like aesthetics and function at a relatively low cost
This is by far my most favorite "fun" purchase in years. The bike turns into a great conversation piece, the first tier of assist is great for making rough flat bearable, and 2-3 are a blast for no-sweat rides whether commuting or for leisure. Full-Throttle isn't punchy by any means but it gets you going well enough when you need to pick up speed in traffic or just want to treat your ride like a moped. The only downside is the seat will kill your thighs the first few rides and definitely make the "taint" for lack of a better word sore. This is all fairly temporary before you find absolutely any excuse to ride it. Invest in good protection for the bike and keep it with you as often as you can when out and about because this thing stands out and you probably won't see another one unless you literally live near beaches in California. It draws attention for good reason.

Terrible seat
The seat is basically leather wrapped plastic with a small small cushion. I am trying to find a replacement. I would have not gotten this bike if I had tried it first. That said, it's fun to ride and seems pretty solid otherwise.

DO NOT BUY THESE BIKES THEY ARE GARBAGE
DO NOT BUY THESE BIKES THEY ARE GARBAGE - bought two of them last August - immediately the kickstand fell off of one and the pedal wasn't fitting correctly on the other. The seller came to my house and fixed both. Appreciated that and I posted as such at the time. Almost immediately the brakes are grinding on the rims - $75 to shape the warped tire rims and the bike is good. Ok. Fast forward to March of this year - brakes aren't working - another $75 at the bike shop. Ok. Fast forward to May of this year - headlights aren't working and most recently the throttle isn't working. Went to several bike shops and they can't source the parts, I can't find the headlights or throttle anywhere on the planet! Called Hurley - that's a funny joke. Amazon (3 hours and 20 people I talked over 3 conversations) - be careful buying big ticket items from Amazon because after 30 days they simply don't care - they contacted the seller twice and he ghosted them and now they are done and he gets to keep on selling defective merchandise with no recourse! So $3,000 later I have bikes my kids can't ride - thank you Amazon - LFG Power Bikes you guys are shameful.

Mini swell in name only, this bike is a tidal wave of fun.
Came early by fed ex and they dropped off the box in my alley behind the house. Luckily it was not stolen. So I found it eventually and dragged the 80 pound box into the yard . Opened it up to a pristine bike , the frame and things inside were wrapped up with cushioning plastic sheets. Only the handle bars and pedals needed to be reattached. tightened up. The headlight on instructions were incorrect . Instead of pressing down arrow for 3 seconds , you press the up arrow for 3 seconds to turn on lights.
