It is slow going, but will cut through a tap. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Review *by J***N on 29 September 2025* I broke an 1/8” cobalt drill about 1/16” beneath the surface of a piece of 5/16” plate while drilling a pilot hole. I needed to get the broken drill out of the hole. This carbide drill bit extractor is essentially harder than the drill and is able to cut through it. I thought for sure I was throwing $13 away, but I was wrong. This ground right through the bit and I kept going through the other side of the plate.
