Cathedral Products A4+ (Foolscap) Steel File Box with Starter Pack of 5 Suspension Files - Black

I was a bit disappointed with this metal file, as only a few days after use, the latch worked loose, so when I’d pick the file box up, the lid would come open. At first, I thought maybe I hadn’t closed it properly, but I soon discovered that it was the latch itself had somehow worked loose, so I avoid picking the box up now by the handle, and instead I lift it up the box from the bottom, which is not ideal, as it isn’t lightweight. I don’t think I would buy this again.

I got this rather than having to have a huge filing cabinet. The good points are that it holds foolscap folders meaning you can store A4 documents - which is what most letters and statements sent by Banks, Energy companies etc are. The handle on the top means that carrying is easy. The guides on the inner edges mean the files hold well. Although quite thin metal this is fairly sturdy and I stacked 4 of these on top of one another without problem. Another good point is that the small feet on the base fit in to small indentations on the top to allow for secure stacking.The only negative is that the lock is not quite as good as the rest of the box so you have to make sure the lid is properly aligned and close the lock very carefully. Once locked it’s all good and I’ve never had the lock fail. If the lock was a bit better then this would be a 5 star product so because of that lock niggle I’ve only given this 4 stars.

This is a foolscap metal storage box for suspension files.It is a little flimsy and I did find that the locking mechanism is not the best. I would suggest when picking this up that you hold your hand under the bottom as the catch is not completely reliable and can come undone when carrying.This came with two keys and also some suspension files as well.this is a cheaper alternative to a filing cabinet and it does do the job well and hold quite a lot of paperwork. I am pleased with this and for the money I kind of got what I expected. If there was a better locking mechanism it would be perfect.

I purchased this as an alternative to a filing cabinet. I have used Cathedral products before, and I am concerned that this is not a genuine product. I purchased the red version wanting to brighten up my office! The box has sharp corners and the hinges also protrude from the back, which also makes them sharp. The 5 suspension files are flimsy and the plastic hangers do not fit the rails (which you cannot move), again I am sure that these are a genuine product. BEWARE when you put files in or take them out, the handle connectors on the underside of the lid are also sharp, as my hand unfortunately found out whilst I was inserting a file.On the whole I was expecting a far better product, than the one that I have received. Okay so it didn't cost the earth, but I still expected the product to be fit for purposes without modifications.Unfortunately it is not up to the standards of other "Cathedral" products I have previously purchased.

This product was never going to have the sturdiness of a fireproof box at £25. However it represents fair value for money. The foolscap suspension files attach straight to formed slats on the inside of the box, no fancy internal frames. The lock and handle feel somewhat flimsy but they are functional. A total of 10 foolscap suspension files are included. You may wish to buy your own reinforced type, but the 25 I purchased were far too many - I think 15 files are probably the max if you are storing substantial amounts. I would compare the storage capacity to approximately 2.5 lever arch files. The blue lacquer helps the box feel slightly more home-centric but I don't think it's going to be very hard wearing.
