Love this brand, love this spoon
Not only are these beautiful wood and beautifully made, but the thickness and angle are perfect for any pot or pan. I love these! Yes, I abuse them and put them in the dishwasher bottom utensil rack. Then I air dry them completely and rub them well with olive oil and they come right back beautifully. I have one or multiples of everything they make. Love these.

Hard to Find Shape
This is a beautiful spoon and very good quality. Length is good and useful for most 2 and 3 qt sauce pans. I find it works well to scrape the bottom of pans when stirring. To condition the wood, I used a suggestion from another poster and treated it with Boos Wood Cream and wrapped it in plastic wrap overnight rather than just an initial rub. That made a difference when I used it the first time.

One of my favorite things
I have no clue why these have bad Amazon reviews; they're one of my very favorite things I own. Amazon says I've bought 4 times but some of those orders had multiple, and every one has been great. I give them as gifts, I use them every time I cook, I keep them on display in my berard olive wood utensil cup. 7 years since my first order and I've never had to throw one out, I just keep backups so I can use them forever. This is a perfect spoon, makes me a little happier every time I use it

Expected more . . .
I gave the spoon three stars since it is made out of olive wood, it appears to probably be made out of one piece of wood, and it is free of defects. However, I subtracted two stars for looks and craftsmanship.LooksI expected the spoon at this price point to be made out of a better looking piece of olive wood. I posted a picture so you can see if you agree. It doesn't even come close to being as pretty as those in the picture posted by Cindy which shows three beautiful pieces with the garlic/shallots.CraftsmanshipYou will also notice in the picture there is obvious etching where the head meets the handle versus a smoother transition which is more common for well handmade pieces. The sharp etched edge could just as very well be a hole in the spoon's head with a glued on handle. That's not what I pay more money to see.

My go-to spatula
This is hands-down my favorite spatula. The shape of the head is great and very versatile. The wood quality is top-notch. Note that it does require a bit of care, unlike a pure silicone one. I wash it soon after I'm done cooking with it so food does not harden onto it, and every now and then I'll apply a coating of oil to keep the wood moist. I personally use a light coating of olive oil although you can use (food grade) mineral oil if you want (buy the laxative version, same product, much cheaper, and good conversation starter hehe).

Beautiful, durable cooking spoon
This spoon is carved from a single piece of wood, not a bowl and handle glued together, which is what I wanted. When I first got it, I treated it with mineral oil and then butcher block cream. Since then, I haven't been perfect with it - once I left it submerged in water overnight, and another time I left it covered in tomato sauce for hours. Surprisingly, it's been totally fine through that, without any staining or warping. Beautiful high quality wood. Highly recommended. Just don't put it in the dishwasher!

It washed up just fine, and then I soaked it in John Boos ...
I initially purchased a set of wooden spoons from Williams-Sonoma, but they started to disintegrate on their initial wash so they were returned. I decided to give the Berard a try and so far I don't regret it. It washed up just fine, and then I soaked it in John Boos Mystery Oil in plastic wrap for a day. Since then I have used it daily for cooking and it still looks brand new. I now plan to purchase more of the Berard line in other sizes/configurations.

Very Disappointed-The pictures say it all
After hand washing (as per instructions) the brand new utensils under the kitchen sink and drying them all overnight over counter top-the photos says how disappointed I am!! I took the picture of all the new utensils as soon I removed them from the delivery box and sent it to the friend who recommended and uses these utensils and has been happy with them!
