Inasmuch as most fingerprinting is being done digitally these days, you still need a hard copy for many out-of-state applications. In my area, the sheriff's office will do prints at no charge, but you have to provide the FD-258 cards yourself. These are perfect fingerprint cards and the cost for a whole package of them is less than going to a commercial fingerprinting service. I scanned one and created a Word file to fill in all the data entry blocks so the cards come out neatly printed and no one will have to decipher my terrible handwriting.

Fingerprinting cards
These fingerprinting cards come in a pack of 50. I have ordered over 300 of these and they are great quality. They are not the thin, easily bent ones the police station uses. These are much better quality. If you need to have your fingerprinting done for a criminal background check for any licensure, these are perfect. They are easy to imprint and do not have any smudging.

I didn't know that I can do the finger prints for the ATF myself. This saves me a lot of time and some money too. I got a pack of 50; I will never need to buy them again. These cards are the same size, thickness, and quality as the ones I got from the Police and Sheriffs Office but didn't cost me $50.

Use these at work and have had several ATF forms approved using these. They work and I would (will) buy again.

Illinoisan's need them
Illinois finally passed concealed carry for it's residents. One of the little known requirements of the new bill is that including a "Ten Card" with your application will reduce turn around time for your permit by 30 days. I assumed there would be a rush to get fingerprinted when the CCP applications are available. So I ordered these, filled one out and took it down to the State Police office. The officer was happy to fingerprint me and happy to take a half dozen blanks in the process. It seems they are short FP cards themselves. So beat the rush because I'm betting the police will not be so happy when there is a line out the door of people wanting their fingerprints for CCP applications. The price is low enough that I've just been giving out the rest to friends and family.
