IMPROPERLY WIRED ADAPTER
My D-Link NAS did require the adapter, but upon failure of the supply to power the NAS, I did some pin poking and found that the adapter itself was improperly wired.AS DELIVERED, THE +12 LINE FROM THE SUPPLY WAS LEFT IN ITS ORIGINAL POSITION, AND THE +5 LINE FROM THE SUPPLY WAS TIED TO GROUND! THIS CONFIGURATION WOULD BE INAPPROPRIATE FOR ANY D-LINK NAS! (See illustration).The net effect of this improperly wired adapter was to place +12V on the +5V input of the NAS, and to short the seller's power supply’s own +5V output to ground. As you can WELL imagine, neither device was very happy with this arrangement.I will be contacting the seller in an effort to come up with a satisfactory replacement NAS.

Plugged in with included adapter and DNS-326 started smoking.
If it comes with an adapter, USE IT. I didn't, because it had no instructions, and let the magic smoke out of my NAS. other than that, it appears to be a solid PSU.

Works great!
After trying to get a response from DLink to replace the power supply on my NAS, I finally gave up and bought this after-market item. Works great!

Terrible service. I didn't get a reply from two ...
The item I ordered was not needed and I sent my item back to UpBright and they never returned my money or the item that I sent back to them!!! Terrible service. I didn't get a reply from two emails that I sent them either... smh!!
