Where Is the Taj Mahal?

Fact or Fiction? Read it and find out.
Recently we visited the Taj Mahal after my son read the book the night before. Although I told my son to keep the book a secret he spilled the beans in the first minutes. As a result we found out from our guide who claims he toured Metallica and Zukerberg, that some of the story of the romance was FALSE. The Khan was planning on his own burial site. However, as with all of the Where is or Who was series, the books entertain and inform.FYI, unfortunately even though breathtakingly beautiful, the Taj is rather small. And if you happen to use a guide Americans, start at 1/10th the value of an item because your guide is expecting to get a 10% cut of whatever you purchase. And like Turkey prices are out of line in the higher end shops with the price the merchant paid the artisan.Since most Indians make less than $2 per day. The markup like jewelry can be 500%.

another excellent book
We have about forty of these books and in every one I learn things I did not know before -- and I have taught American history for years! I have also taught world history. This book on the Taj Mahal is fascinating. I love that I can ask my jr. hi students to read them and also read them myself and we all enjoy them. They are extremely well done.

My son (7 years old) has read the entire Who Was series. He clearly knows more than I do about all sorts of facts. I believe these books have created an amazing curiosity for my son. He digs into all facts, everything about history and loves reading. I think it's all thanks to the Who Was series.

Excellent information about the Taj Mahal for Children
Where Is the Taj Mahal? explains what this magnificent building is and its purpose. It describes the history leading up to building the Taj Mahal, and the building process, too. It gives a detailed description of the features of this wonder and its surrounding grounds and buildings. It follows the Taj Mahal to the present day, describing the various times when it began to fall to ruin, as well as those efforts that were made to restore it. This is a wonderful book that provides children information about an incredible monument. It also gives them a peek into another culture and its customs.
