## Description

This is a digital biological trinocular compound microscope that includes a digital imaging system. The trinocular microscopy comes with a 45° inclined 360° swiveling trinocular sliding viewing head, two pairs of widefield eyepieces, four achromatic objectives, stain-resistant double layer mechanical stage with scales, coarse & fine focusing, NA 1.25 Abbe condenser and variable intensity LED transmitted illumination system. It offers eight levels of magnification power: 40X-80X-100X-200X-400X-800X-1000X-2000X. The 1.3MP (1280x1024 pixels) USB digital imaging system captures still microscope images and live video on computer. The included software compatible with Windows, and Mac OS X (see version information below). The user-friendly editing and processing software for Windows offers advanced features including stitching, EDF (Extended Depth of Focus), video recording and measurement functions. The software allows you to make notes, shapes, and watermarks with ease. You can analyze, present, and share images of samples and specimens using the software. This type of digital compound microscopy is perfect for teaching demonstration and clinical examination, laboratories and advanced applications.

## Customer Reviews

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent scope; fair camera
*by E***D on December 31, 2017*

This is an excellent microscope: very sturdily built, the optics are clear and bright, the controls smooth and precise, and the trinocular means you get a comfortable binocular view of the subject while still being able to digitally capture the view. The software installed easily onto a Windows laptop, and the 'scope was recognized automatically upon plugging in the USB cable. I bought this for my "budding scientist" and found myself using it many times when she was away (wishing I had one this good when I was her age.)The only place I would be critical would be concerning the included digital camera: (1) at a modest 1.3MP, it is decidedly underpowered (in contrast to the very bright and crisp optics of the regular eyepieces.) Given that most phone cameras these days are considerably higher resolution, the 1200x1024 puts it clearly as "entry level"... impressive the first five minutes, but very quickly falling short of expectations. (2) The color gamut is very much different than what you see through the eyepieces: slides with vivid magenta stains as seen directly by eye are dull low-contrast muddy purple when imaged on computer. The software does allow image correction, but it would be nice if the camera sensor were up to this on its own... tweak the image to much, and you get away from science and into artistic interpretation. Finally (3) the field of view of the camera sensor is very much narrower than the eyepieces: the digital camera is only able to image the center bit (approximately 1/9th) of the optical field of view (regardless of objective, and at least for the 10x eyepieces.) Not insurmountable, but it would be nice if the camera more closely matched what the objectives showed. What is nice is that the objectives are calibrated so that going from a lower magnification to a higher one leaves the image pretty much in focus (not something that was true with the 'scope of my childhood) and this makes viewing much more fun: center the subject, flick the objective to the next magnification, and fine-tune the focus a bit (if at all.) Having individual diopter focus is good for those with less-than-perfect sight, and I found it useful to calibrate the eyepieces to the digital camera (if you don't do this, the camera won't be in focus when the eyepieces are, and vice versa.)Overall, I'm really happy with this purchase: the scope is rock-solid, something my young scientist will have for many years to come (and I may steal eyepiece time when opportunity permits, too! ;-) Yeah, the digital camera is still on the verge of "toy" status, maybe good for some homework assignment reports, helped out by the software's capabilities, but given that it's "just another eyepiece" (instead of being permanently built into the 'scope) the search is on for something more in line with the capabilities of the times, in terms of megapixels, color fidelity, and sensor size.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good for start ups but one will have to upgrade

Too small for a clinic but it works. Good for start ups but one will have to upgrade later
