Great Product, and great delivery experience with Prime
Great Product, and great delivery experience with Prime. The color looks wonderful in any kitchen, and the size is perfect for a family of 2-4. It is quite heavy, but that is part of the charm of using a cast iron product. The enamel coating allows to cook almost anything including acidic foods, without worrying about damage to the cast Iron. Would recommend 10/10 times.

Not different from the top brands
Ì bought this Dutch oven because I wanted the particular size (6qt), and couldn't get it in my preferred brands. I've used Lodge cast iron in the past, but never this enameled variety. Since then, I've used it for bread, casseroles and braising meat and I see no difference with my items that are triple the price. While I still love the exclusive workmanship and history behind my brands, this hasn't let me down or shown any inferiority.

This is a good quality cast iron Dutch oven. Easy to clean, however, it's very heavy so a bit hard to handle. Overall, I'm super pleased and would buy it again.

I have a cheap stove, so it's not easily possible to stew things at lower temperature with regular pots. The heat dissipates too quickly, so it just stops simmering. Not with this pot: It has amazing heat retention, so it has become indispensable since I bought it. It is extremely heavy though, which is to be expected by such a large mass of cast iron. Maybe it can double as a makeshift bomb shelter in a pinch. I guess any dutch oven has to measure up to Le Creuset, which I don't personally have any experience with. However, I can see that the Le Creuset costs at least twice as much on Amazon. I doubt that it can be twice as good because this pot is damn near perfect. At 6 liters, it is a bit too big for two people, but that's hardly Lodge's fault. Only disadvantage to me is that the lid edges are kind of rough so they feel like unglazed terra cotta. That means that putting the lid on, taking it off, or moving it makes a scraping sound which I personally hate more than nails on a chalkboard. Fortunately, the lid is very heavy as well so it's not like you move it around too much. I'm kind of blindly rating its taste though. I have not tried eating it because I find cast iron too hard to chew, but I have to assume it's delicious.

Having a "Bee In My Bonnet" to try to make Julia Child's Beef Bourguignon, I went in search of a Enameled Cast-Iron Dutch Oven and found this one. I will use it today for the first time and it will be "christened" doing Julia's recipe!! I am confident that if the meal isn't wonderful it will NOT be the fault of this lovely pot!! I have looked it over carefully and see no flaws whatsoever in the pot or the cover. I did pay particular attention to the pot and lid rims, looking for any raised spots that were mentioned in another review. I find no such spots on the pot I received, only nicely porcelain coated black edges, flat and smooth. The lid has a lip on it so that it fits inside the pot and I don't see how any steam could possibly escape. Once I've used my new pot, I can probably add other comments, but for now...this pot has exceeded all of my expectations! My ONLY problem now is trying to find all the other pieces to match my pretty Cafe Brown pot :-) UPDATE! The Beef Bourguignon turned out perfect! Love this pot. When the beef came out of the oven, the pan was pretty spattered and I sort of groaned..no worries, the spatter cleaned off in a flash, beef back into the pot and finished for serving. Can't wait to try something else in it!
