This is the cutest book and it rhymes! My son loves this book and I love that it teaches him about boundaries for his own body and others. The illustrations are absolutely beautiful too. Highly recommend for your little ones!

Very cute story
Love how this is a cute story for a young child to understand that it's ok to ask for your own personal space and to respect it with others.

Adorable story teaches important lesson
This book is so adorable and is such an important lesson for kids to learn! The rhymes are so cute and it’s so much fun to read out loud. I hope every kid gets to see this book and learns that no means no - whether it’s them learning they’re allowed to say no to unwanted attention, or that they have to respect others’ right to say no as well. These are the lessons that need taught at a young age, and a fluffy, adorable quokka helps to make this lesson a really fun one!

Preschool Teacher and Mom Approved!
Amazingly written book that helps start a discussion on body autonomy and consent. My own children ages 7&9 loved it, as did my preschool class of 3-year-olds. As a child I hated being told to hug random family members I hadn't met before. I love that now we're teaching kids that they don't have to hug anyone unless they want to. And quokkas are so cute that my kids and I are now officially obsessed with Quokkas!

A great children's book about choice!
This was really such a great story about allowing people to decide for themselves when they would like to be hugged. I loved that the message is repeated over and over that the Quokka says "No!", so we don't hug the Quokka. This is a short book, and it really drives the message home for kids with its short sentences and great illustrations.I was provided a gifted copy of this book for free. I am leaving my review voluntarily.

Great book for kiddos
Are you a hugger? Me, I personally I. A hug can change my whole day. But I understand that not everyone is, and hugs should never be forced upon anyone, but I am 39. How to teach children this concept? Open and honest conversations are great, but having a book is a great way to reinforce this concept. The concept of concent is great to teach a child when they are younger. This book, Don’t Hug The Quokka! Is a beautifully illustrated book that makes it okay for someone to say no to hugs. Saying no to unwanted touch no matter how many times you are asked or in how many different ways. I just think this book is a great conversation starter for kiddos.⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ 💫Thank you to @pajamabooks @maginationpress and @suzyapprovedbooktours for this gifted review copy.Book Synopsis:That quokka may be cute, but does it want a hug? The quokka says “No!” In Don't Hug That Quokka!, young readers get a lighthearted and friendly introduction to the concept of consent, learning that even the most adorable creatures might not want a hug—unless they say so!Consent is a really important topic for parents to introduce with young children, but it can be tricky to do so in a way that’s clear without being frightening. This book is funny and cute, but has a clear message that you have to ask before touching someone else—it’s a good place to start for young kids.

Important story about body autonomy
This was a very good read about consent and body autonomy for younger children. The illustration and rhyming really helps to tell the story. I appreciated the author’s note at the end further explaining to parents the importance of convent and body autonomy,Thanks to NetGalley and the American Psychological Association for access to this ARC.
